I have always supported Nintendo. Since I was 6 years old it has been the only gaming system I have used. Throughout middle school and high school I got in some debates on the best game system. This year was the year I tried different systems and was starting to lose faith in Nintendo. But then they came out with splatoon and won my heart all over again. I loved that it can be a story mode game, random players, ranked and fighting for the side you believe in! But now I am sad all over again to learn splatfest is to be over for good. My sisters and I camp out in the family room every splatfest (even on a school night). It was a huge bonding things for us.
To say the least Nintendo you are making a mega mistake, I recommend to rethink this sooner rather than later.
