I keep getting killed by the last boss (form 1--the easiest one). I am not getting there with enough magic...I hate starting level 6 over again. But, I am closer to finishing this game than I've ever been so I have to keep trying....
@Boab Gibb, if you have a GBA or DS, there is an excellent compilation of Phantasy Star I, II, and III out there on one GBA cartridge. I've never played IV before, though, but I've been told that it too is very good. Just thought I'd throw that out there... Phantasy Star I was (I believe) Master System only so I don't think it'll end up on VC unless they add that system.

I loved the first Shining Force. I'll definitely get this one as soon as it comes out. I've never played Shining Force II before.
I played the first Ys a bit on the NES. I think I got stuck on the second to last boss and then got distracted by other games. It was a lot of fun, though. I will likely download this once it comes out...an upgraded version of it would be great and I never played Ys II at all...
I actually liked this game, but I may be biased since it was the first 16-bit RPG I ever played. I beat it over and over. I agree with the comments noted in the review, though. At the time I looked past all of that stuff. I don't think I'll be downloading it again, though, because I have already beat it so much. Maybe someday I will, but not soon....
I feel compelled to point out that I think this game had pretty good music, too.
I think it is worth playing in my opinion, but any RPG fans who approach should be advised that it has both pluses and minuses....
I feel obligated to play this as much praise as it has gotten over the years. I played it only briefly back when it was more contemporary....I'm sure I'll like it just as many others have....
I downloaded this just so that I could make a (feeble?) attempt at beating it. I can get to level 5 most of the time. It's just so hard all the way through, but I find myself continuing to want to get further. Try and try again...
It has a good mixture of difficulty and fun, though, so you are encouraged to keep trying even against often terrible odds....
I never played this until I downloaded it on my Wii. I wanted to play it when it came out but did not have a SNES. It was a great game, though, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it...
This game is definitely a tough one in my opinion. I too didn't have too much trouble with the dam level at all, though. I generally got stuck after that, but I can't remember exactly where...I know only made it inside the Technodrome once, though. I don't know if I'll download this one or not. There are other super-tough games that I never beat that are higher on my priorities list....Ninja Gaiden for one....
This was the first game I've played in the Paper Mario series. I was pleasantly surprised--I liked it much more than I thought I would. I recommend it to any fans of turn-based RPG's. It is enjoyable from the beginning to the end.
I've played Metroid: Zero Mission before and absolutely loved it. I don't think I'll download this one, though, because i have a remade version of it. I don't mind games being dated, though, so I would definitely download it if I didn't already have it.
I am in the small minority of actually being a big fan of this installment of Castlevania. I understand that it is a completely different format from the other games in the series, but I still think it works. I got stuck a lot back when I was playing this originally. Figuring things out for yourself takes much longer, but it is awesome when it happens....the clues you get are cryptic at best. If you play it without guidance, expect to go in circles a lot before completing it.
This is fun and tough. I never really thought of SCIV as a remake of it, though I guess it is the same story. I think both are worth playing in their own right. SCIV is a little more fun, though, just a little easier I think. That's just my opinion.
I agree that the grim reaper is harder than dracula...I was stuck on him for a good while....
I liked this game a lot. I may be a little biased because I owned it back when I had my Genesis and I played it a lot. Back then, the sound and graphics seemed really good--at least to me. I recommend it for those of you who like these types of games...
I loved this game. I finally beat it a few weeks ago after having downloaded it. That was gratifying...I can't wait until Adventures of Lolo 2 comes out so that I can do it again.
I never did beat this game, but I liked it a lot. I will definitely download this one shortly after it comes out so that I can play it all the way through. How exciting!!!
I really enjoyed this game back in the day. I don't think I'll be downloading it now, though, if only because I've already beat it many times. I never did play Arcana though...should probably check it out.
