There is no technical reason why the ports cannot perform as well as the Switch ports of Doom 2016, Wolfenstein II, Doom Eternal, Crysis 1/2/3 Remastered, Zombie Army 4, and Sniper Elite 4. They should also take a peak at Metroid Prime Remastered.
I expect them to perform and look just as good or better than the existing Switch ports of Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Crysis 1/2/3 Remastered and Metroid Prime Remastered. Anything less on the part of the COD developers or port specialists would be a failure.
For those struggling with the four control style configurations, check out the following post. It lists the steps to change the Switch button mapping for a modern day control feel in the game:
Whatever happened to them updating the built in video capture feature to capture more than the previous 30 seconds? I recall a few years ago that they said they would evaluate increasing it.
@WallyWest Hopefully, if and when they bring multiplayer and settlements to the Switch version they can do this. Unfortunately, I am holding out purchasing the Switch version as I don’t want to deal with separate progression on the Switch and PC.
I hope this gets cross play and cross save/progression support. I have this game on PC and would love to transfer progress back and forth. Many developers have implemented these features into Switch games.
I am pretty confident the game will be released in October as it will be a part of celebrating the 60th anniversary of the James Bond films. There will probably be additional details released on Global James Bond day (October 5th). If not, it will be a missed opportunity.
Why should you have to pay another $50 when the current Switch version is based on the Special Edition? If you own the special edition, you can get the Anniversary edition upgrade for only $19 (US).
There is now 64 GB of internal storage (up from 32 GB). It seems odd the review doesn’t mention this as it’s clearly stated in the various marketing materials and specs.
They forgot to mention the improved fast travel feature that is unlocked with the purchase of the new “Zelda & Loftwing” amiibo. Oh wait. They didn’t forget. They do not want potential customers not interested in the amibo to know that a pretty nice QoL feature exists, but is locked away.
The Hatch Tales (formerly Chicken Wiggle Workshop) Kickstarter hasn’t had an update from Atooi since October 2020. Now it is revealed they were working on another game that is complete and releasing tomorrow? This is not how you treat Kickstarter backers.
Well that is somewhat disappointing. The PC version is like 40 to 50 GB. Hopefully some of the sacrifices in quality are not simply because they felt the need to fit it below the Switch available internal storage capacity.
There is no need for developers to do that because other eShop games state that they require a MicroSD card to download. L.A. Noire has a disclaimer that says the full game download is 29 GB and a MicroSD card with a minimum of 29 GB of free space is required to download the game.
I don’t think that “Borrows too heavily from Breath of the Wild” and “The new title sucks” should factor into a review score. Are these really bad things? Do other reviews on this site take off points for being inspired from other games or having a crappy title?
Something important not mentioned is that this patch does not provide any option to skip, disable or remove your bnet account from the game. If you created an account or used an existing account pre-patch, the game still auto logs you into Bethesda.net. There is no option to disable this.
We know that in the hands of competent developers, outstanding ports can be made to the Switch (e.g., Skyrim, Doom, Wolfenstein, Rocket League, Fortnite, Diablo). Ubisoft should have outsourced this port to Panic Button.
If the game cartridge is $10 cheaper than the other platforms, a better question to ask is if some features or content is missing. Hopefully, the Switch port has the same quality, features, and content as the other versions.
It may not fit on the internal system memory or current 32GB game cards, but it will fit on my 400GB microSDXC card. Digital download only? I thought Nintendo was going to make 64GB game cards available to developers?
