Re: Feature: Retrofitting Your Console for the HD Age

PALgamer

Haven't had a problem with my Wii using components cable (shame there are some games that don't use 480p) on a 55" LED TV (it also has Svideo and Scart inputs), maybe some lag in games like NSMB but turning on game mode fixed that.
What really surprised me that these new TV's really come packed with all the extra features you would need: Digital TV/SAT decoders, media centre capabilities, streaming video, PIP, etc. I was getting ready to buy an HD sat decoder, standalone HTPC... but the TV is more than enough! Maybe I'll get a laptop to use as an HTPC.

Re: Activision Disbands Guitar Hero Business, No Entry in 2011

PALgamer

GH series did good on the Wii, most of the times even better than their HD counterparts (though they milked it to death). RB1 port was horrible, at least afterwards they got up2date with the features GH was giving. Congrats Activision on your foresight, let Harmonix invest on what is left of the active market.

Re: This Upcoming WiiWare Game is Absolutely Pucca

PALgamer

That's right, if you go to NoE site. This game is coming out the 4th in Europe for Wii, with the new fireplace WW (Cosy Fire). Alongside Animal Boxing, Digger Dan&Kaboom, Gold Fever and GloryDays Tactical Defense for DSiWare... and S.C.A.T. (NES) for VC.

Re: 3DS Too Full of Gadgets to Make a 3DS Lite Possible

PALgamer

I think the next 3DS will be slightly bigger (like the DSi with respect to DSL) with a bigger 3D screen that is more energy efficient, it's the only part they can improve. Maybe make it matte again (hate glossy electronics) and add a trackpad to the bottom like the NGP?
They messed up using 4:3 in the screen bellow, that one should have been 5:3 too, so not expecting an upgrade to widescreen for the lower one.

Re: Angry Birds Making Their Nest on WiiWare

PALgamer

You have to take Chillingo's previous pricing into factor. From Dracula: Undead Awakening 1$ App to DSi 500p and WiiWare 1000p ports. Same thing will happen here to Angry Birds. But I'd like to see Rolando 2 on WiiWare, would be nice to play in a big screen.

Re: Review: Ancient Tribe (DSiWare)

PALgamer

@zkaplan: That's true, there are way nicer games available for the iPhone at that price range too. Though I find it curious that whenever a company brings these iPhone ports over to DSiWare they tend to go to the $5 price range (Flight Control, Dracula: Undead Awakening, Fieldrunners), when they could have done much better at $2.

Re: Nintendo Download: Puzzle Bobble, Water Warfare, SimEarth, Altered Beast and More Sudoku (EU)

PALgamer

Chibi Link and Calculon, you guys are very optimistic. Will they finally be able to release everything they haven't in the previous three months at the last one? I'd think they will release another two games from the list like they did this month, maybe three since there is an extra release day.
Squibs Arcade I'm sure was supposed to come out with the iPhone version, so it's really late, though if it's anything like the iPhone version they can keep it...
Looking forward to Bonsai Barber, Cave Story, LIT, Spaceball, and the latest US WW Neves Plus.

We are never going to catch up with NTSC like this. But who cares, right?
/me goes back to play Icarian

NoE have released only two WiiWare's from their schedule this month, both Icarian and Water Warfare. For July they have to release two of them each week or start having three WiiWares like in America. We do have more games than anyone in the queue so it would be logical we had more releases too!... nope it isn't...

Games for next month from "NoE's Schedule":
WiiWare - Bonsai Barber, Cave Story, Colorz, LIT, Oveturn, Robocalypse, Spaceball, Squibs Arcade.
DSiWare - Mighty Flip Champs!

Re: Nintendo Download: Space Harrier Arcade, Fish'em All and Art Style: NEMREM (EU)

PALgamer

You're right KDR, from the NoE April-July release list, only two games so far have come out. We have a great month ahead of us, more than one WW weekly
Can't wait for: Bonsai Barber, Cave Story, Colorz, Icarian, LIT, Oveturn, Robocalypse, Spaceball, Squibs Arcade, Water Warfare.

On the DSiWare front, they've done much better so far by releasing four games with Mighty Flip Champs! and A Little Bit of... Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: Maths Edition left for next month.

Re: Groovin' Blocks Coming To Europe Soon

PALgamer

Never understand why some WiiWare US releases have to come to PAL as a retail version. Isn't WiiWare supposed to be a less risk method on getting your content out? Why give the US the option to get retail or download and not to PAL?
Funny thing is the iPhone version will truly be the worldwide downloadable release to get.

Re: Chillingo Bringing Rolando Killer to WiiWare

PALgamer

There are more games from WiiWare on iPhone than the other way round (only can think of Crystal Defenders). Defend Your Castle, Equilibrio, Midnight Bowling/Pool, Pop, Tiki Towers, TV Show King, Wild West Guns, and Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam all there and are even cheaper. And with Toki Tori plus Potpourrii also going.

Re: Welcome to the New Look Nintendo Life!

PALgamer

I don't like the name of the site much, but I come here for the content so having it all merged up is great! Designs are bigger and fill my screen more. Although I miss the blue, white from WWW, change is always healthy.

"Hi mum, I'm in an article"

That was fun to read, specially the side remarks. Great to know it isn't all balance and the difficulty increases exponentially. Definitely going to get this quirky title when it shows up here (thanks Starwolf for that confirmation). Excellent impressions!
... No regrets on the price then?
