So something to keep in mind is the distinction between ripping a rom and reverse engineering. These folks are looking at the code and rebuilding them with enough differences to allow fair use. It's like repainting the Mona Lisa, the image looks the same but the brush strokes are not. I will say the part I find difficult to wrap my head around is the use of what I imagine are still copyrighted music and characters. I would be very interested in what loophole is at play here.

Honestly I hope they go bankrupt and have to sell off their franchises. They higher people in leadership who's soul job is to make deadlines and budget at whatever human capital cost. That kind of environment just breeds abuse and negativity. This is what happens when gaming companies get to big, they loose the "for the love of the game" mindset and turn into soulless money factories.

@Kimyonaakuma you do realize a big part of that was based on pressure from consoles to have it come out on old hardware.
