The Switch is my first Nintendo Console and Dread was my first Metroid game. I played it obsessively for over a month and it’s probably my favourite Switch game so far.
I really like it so far. It’s really quite hard, but in a fair way. And when you finally beat a track in career mode it feels like a proper accomplishment.
The control system is a bit crampy in handheld - I found the pro controller in docked much better.
Graphics are… not great on the Switch. But the feeling of speed and the gameplay more than make up for it.
I’m getting the same feeling playing this as I did Wipeout 2097 on the PS1. Which is a good thing.
@squidgybuffalo I’ve had all minifigures disappear from all cutscenes a few times. Most odd seeing lightsabers and hair (no idea why the hair remained) twirling around in the intro.
I had issues with the volume being very low as well.
I was able to resolve it by turning off Bluetooth on my phone (which my headphones were also paired with), turning off my headphones then turning them back off again.

Re: Talking Point: Which Is Your Favourite Nintendo Controller? Every Nintendo Pad Ranked
I voted for the Switch Pro.
But what I really wanted to vote for was the Hori Split Pad Pro.
Re: Video: Masahiro Sakurai Talks About Frame Rates In Games
I think frame rate is gaming’s Emperor’s New Clothes.
I couldn’t tell you which games I have run at 30fps and which at 60.
I can tell which ones have a variable frame rate though.

Should probably check out Super Metroid on NSO.

Re: UK Government Warns It "Will Not Hesitate To Consider Legislation" Against Loot Boxes
“will not hesitate to consider”!
I mean, they’ve already hesitated. And “consider”. Not “introduce legislation”. Consider.

There might be a more elegant way to do this.
