"some cases can be explained by publisher interests (like no Mega Man for us in the American continent)"
I don't see Capcom's interest in not putting Mega Man titles on VC. Sure it may lesson sells of the Collector's Edition, but that's sold out already in most stores and the VC titles have practically no overhead so they are almost pure profit.
Mike, of course I can't play all my 80+ games at once, but on their original consoles it was easy and quick to swap carts and play a different game. On Wii I have to copy and delete games before buying new ones and then when I want to play an old I've already put on SD I have to make room for it on the Wii then copy it back. That's a big waste of time.
I've went as far as to looking into the possibility of a hardware hack to remove the 512MB and replacing it with a larger chip. I don't know if the Wii would recognize a larger chip, but even if it did it wouldn't expand the number of pages on the default select screen. It would be labor intensive to desolder the old chip and solder a new one then download all 80+ or my games again, but it'd be worth saving the time when I play a game immediately upon turning on my Wii.
I'd gladly buy Mega Man 1 and 2 again because the Megaman Anniversary Collection on GCN has swapped controls which totally sucked. Maybe I should put my tri-point screwdriver and soldering iron to good use and rewire a Wave Bird. That'd probably be cheaper than chasing down a PS2 version and faster than waiting for the VC downloads in the US.
@ kelvingreen, I know that music is in the game, I just wanted to hear it and the sound effects with the video at it happens when you play. (And the same for all other vc-reviews videos.) I also know that overdubbing the music eliminates switching sounds between scenes, but the sound effects and specific level music would add to the immersion and ambiance of the games.
Why do all the VC videos have overdubbed music? I'd much rather hear the original music play along with the sound effects of the game. I don't know much about TG emulators, but other emulator can output audio along with the video. If you are using a capture card why not capture the audio at the same time. If you are already getting the audio, why do you over dubbed it?
I think I like the convenience of the VC too much. I've bought about 3 times what I payed for the Wii in VC games. Wow! I just added it all up and I could have bought over four PS3 80 Gigs for what I spent on my Wii, Wii games, contorllers, and VC games. I think I have a problem. Good thing my spouse makes twice my income. Maybe I should get her something special for Valentines day.
That "rule" is not always true. On the Neo Geo: Art of Fighting, Baseball Stars 2, Blue's Journey, Magician Lord, The King of Fighters, and Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy all use the Wiimote. There are also several Sega Megadrive games, such as Virtua Fighter 2, that don't use the Wiimote.
I like the new comment system and the inclusion of avatars. I wish my avatar had been kept in its original clean looking PNG format instead of being converted to lossy JPG though. Oh well.
I'd stopped commenting and rating games previously because several of my ratings went unposted. No longer. I have downloaded and played 70+ VC games and look forward to rating all of them.
If you liked the original I highly recommend this version. It has multiple paths and enemy patterns that add to the game without losing any of the originals game play.
I gave this game some time (see comment above), but still couldn't get into it. It's just not interesting to me. I don't like that it's so slow and prizes are seemingly random. I gave it a chance, but in the end it simply wasn't for me. I still don't see why so many people see it so favorably.
I must have totally missed something because I find it hard to give this game a good rating. It was slow, random, and very much lacking in fun. I don't get it.
I agree with most of your ratings, but you are way off on this one. Galaga is a 5 star game. There are other shooters that do more, but the simplicity of Galaga is what makes it great.

Re: The Great Internal Memory Debate
Rossi, according to what I've read NA launch Wiis only supported 2G SD cards. Do new or EU versions recognize larger SD cards?
Re: Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom
I'm not a huge NG fan, but I know some people that will be happy to know that we're getting this and Phantasy Star™ II in North America tomorrow.

Re: Soldier Blade
So far Soldier Blade is my favorite vertical scrolling shooter on VC.

Re: Operation Wolf
The press update doesn't mention the zapper so I assume they went with the controller only configuration.
Re: Are Virtual Console games good value for money?
@Sockapal, Yes. I came in third and won a Wii, DS, Rayman RR, RS guide, controller, and RS CD.

Re: Revamped Site is Now Live!
To save your bandwidth for avatars, couldn't you let people host their own avatars?

Re: Revamped Site is Now Live!
Could you add a controller drop-down for the filter? I'd like to be able to see all the games that use the Wiimote on one page.

Re: Gunstar Heroes
This game came highly rated and recommended, but I just couldn't get into it. I give it a 3 star average rating.
