It's not "ounce", it's OZ. An "ounce" is an archaic unit of measurement no longer used in the civilized part of the world and a Japanese company would certainly not take it into account when designating codenames.
Not entirely on topic, but why does Nintendo bother translating games to Dutch anyway? The Netherlands is a tiny country who's inhabitants are known for being some of the best non-native English speakers in the world. The same is true for the Scandinavians and Nintendo never bothers translating to any of those languages because it's unnecessary.
