@Heavyarms55 That’s the point. Everything is still the exact same as the original,, you would need a rom of the game anyway for Net64 to work. The game and characters are still Nintendo and Sega property. Just adding characters and code to a game won’t get you in trouble. I don’t even think Kaze even has a Patreon anymore anyway.
@Heavyarms55 Kaze technically wrote the server code and each characters ability code himself. He just tells the game how something should work with a character other then Mario, since Mario was the only character in SM64. The rest of the game is untouched. Besides, people get paid to draw Mario characters as commissions, how is using a Mario model in a game any different?
Why does everyone think this is a bad thing? This lets you play one of the best Mario games with 11 new characters with different abilities. There’s also the fact that you can play this online with friends or other people. You can all go find stars together, or just play around. You can’t just say no to something without looking at the positives. And if it gets taken down, then you can still make, and go on servers if you still have the application.
This is just a teaser for things to come. We start with emulation, then work to custom firmware with the ability to gain latest firmware options while keeping the homebrew. At this rate, custom music and textures will see light within the end of the year. This isn’t as bad as everyone thinks it is. A casual Switch owner won’t even care about this.
This is one of the best melee clones out there. If you like the melee play style, then you should buy this. If your more casual about your gaming though, just ignore it and stick to main Smash games.
You all knew this was going to happen, don’t deny it. Exploits are always found in these consoles. If you really can’t stand mods or exploits, then just ignore them. But I’m glad this is finally happening.
Here’s how you play the Modern Sonic stage: Just hold up, and jump periodically. Dont worry about turning, you’re always taken to the middle of the road.
