I agree with Bonesaw and bacchus. If Nintendo released 3 games a week for the next five years that would count 780 games. There is a lot more than 780 games out there for the current machines on the VC. As for licenses, there is no problem. Nintendo has the recourses and the money to pay for those as long as the title is not connected to Sony or Microsoft. This policy works fine for Microsoft and Nintendo is neither short on money or recourses.
Only two games... I really hope Nintendo got something big up their sleeve for next Friday. I'm getting pretty tired on Nintendo's policy, two games and only one of them (super R-type) is worth downloading. There is a lot of good machines on the VC now. Nintendo could easily release three or four games a week and two of them could be top-of-the-line titles.
@Adamant: You mean Sin and Punishment? As I recall it's partially translated. If no translation was necessary we would only have english as an language option on our Wii's, wouldn't we? As it is now Germany, Spain, France and so on insists on having every piece of text translated. If a game comes out on the VC that's not translated at all there will be a lot of whining regardless how much (or how little) text there is.
We won't see any of these games on the EU-VC. Why? They are not translated and because half of Europe won't even learn basic english a game in japanese will be doomed from start.
This is a good platformer and a solid SMB-game. I must say that I was a little surprised when I first played it back in the day. But as the first shock settled I must say that I enjoyed it and I still do.
I downloaded this based on the review and the comments. I must say that though it is a good game it's at the same time incredibly hard. This lowers my score to a solid 3 stars. I must say that I prefer Soldier Blade over this one.
A very good game indeed, but a little hard (I know I suck). As stated above the versions on the C64 are one level above this version though. I don't think we will see the C64 versions though as Nintendo probably will settle for one version on each game (excluding the very popular SF2 series). On the other hand, Nintendo wants those dollars bad, so who knows?
I downloaded this before I got to work. I have played many Turrican games (on C64, Amiga and so on) and I must say that this version seems to be one of the better. I would still like to see Turrican 3 for the Amiga though.
This is amazing! This is the best news I could possibly get! The Commodore 64 was mine to own for almost ten years. I played a lot of games on it. I 'm looking forward to titles like The Last Ninja, Flimbo's Quest and Myth. Way to go Nintendo!
Me and my sister played this on my commodore 64 back in the days. A lot of fun and a almost as much anger when we failed at level 35 or something. A must have if you have a liking for 2 player games.
I had never played this gamed before. But I like shoot'em up's and the review was good so I bought it. I must say that this one is really good. Not as good as Hellfire for the Megadrive but a solid shooter that keeps up with games like Project-X and Ikaruga.

Re: EU VC Release - March 7th - Kirby 64
One game week again?! Give me a break Nintendo! At least 2 games a week, and no I don't want fluffy, pink Kirby! I want Elemental Master and C64 now!

Re: Donkey Kong Country
A fun game with great graphics, but as my skill is bad I do find this game rather difficult.

Re: More C64 Details Emerge - Keyboard Input, Loading Times
I've said it earlier and I will say it again. The C64 coming to VC is fantastic. I can't get these wonderful news out of my head!

Re: Punch-Out!!
An absolute classic!
Re: Kid Icarus
A great game. Unfortunately it doesn't get the attention it deserves.
Re: Streets of Rage 2
A game worth downloading! Even if it is a little short it's still one of the best beat'em ups ever.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
One of the best games of all time! A classic adventure that never fails to impress!
Re: Super Mario Bros. 3
This is one of the best platformers of all time, regardless system.

Re: Shining Force
A great game! Tough I didn't enjoy it's sequel as much as the first one. This is a must have in anyones VC-collection.
