@tabzer you do realize that people's luggage isn't the only thing that Customs does, right? This happened while the game was being shipped to the buyer, through the mail.
"this isn't journalism" my brother in christ this is nintendolife.com/news
I could just as easily say that it is relevant because you want wata to look bad.
this article is about US customs destroying someone's personal property. Obviously they're allowed to mention the fact that it was a WATA graded game, but adding the part about WATA grading a repro was totally irrelevant.
This article and the comments are absolutely ridiculous. Clearly zero research or critical thinking was done before this was published. The comments have a healthy dose of outright lying too which is always nice to see.
It seems they've corrected their mistake where they said that WATA sold the Rondo of Blood themselves. But in the same motion, they removed the "mistakenly" part, because dear god we wouldn't want to make WATA look like anything other than the devil himself.
This is all despite the fact that WATA grading a repro has literally nothing at all to do with the topic at hand. The only connection this has to WATA is that the game happened to be in one of their slabs. This could've been in a VGA case, a CGC case, or even just an ungraded sealed copy and the same thing would've happened. WATA has literally nothing to do with this at all.
The only entity at fault here is US Customs and anyone saying otherwise needs a reality check, regardless of your opinion of WATA.
