@PtM yeah, most likely they restarted development because trying to work with another company’s code that was fairly far along, would probably take longer and create more issues than just starting the code over. That said the vision was still mostly intact unfortunately
@Twilite9 the issue wasn’t Retro- it was Nintendo being inflexible after they gave the project to Retro after Bandai Namco couldn’t deliver. Nintendo forced Retro to use the same game design documents and didn’t allow them to make changes to the problematic structure. Retro’s only option was to comply if they wanted to make future Prime games where they had a seat at the table for the planning.
