it probably wouldn't be such a big deal if there wasn't going to be a single Mario game on a Nintendo console. Without making Mario the center of attention, it enables Nintendo to focus on their other franchises.

Like having Nintendo games on non-nintendo platforms "worked" before...

Nintendo knows what they're doing. They're always prepared to fix their errors. They've always made their next console better after seeing what the previous one failed to do.

I'm a hardcore Mario fan, but even I think Nintendo should stop going overboard with the Mario titles.
