I don't want Illumination to ever touch Metroid, Zelda, Fire Emblem, F-Zero, or Star Fox. I'd prefer they never touch Pikmin either, and I don't think they're the best fit for Splatoon. I don't trust them to get the tone quite right with Earthbound. Animal Crossing already has a slice of life anime, and I'd prefer they go further in that direction with another such anime. Kids Icarus also feels like it would be better as an anime.
They're obviously doing a Yoshi movie next, based on that end credit scene, but my top priority from them after that would be a Luigi's Mansion movie, then a Donkey Kong movie with the whole DK crew, then a Toad Movie where movie Toad becomes Captain Toad, because movie Toad is obviously already a nod to Captain Toad.
Outside of Mario, Kirby is the best fit for another Nintendo x Illumination project. I'd say Punch Out, but we all know why a Punch Out movie would get cancelled in a heart beat. Maybe if it only released in Japan, but then they'd get a Japanese studio to do it. No way in hell Illumination agrees to touch that with a 10 foot pole.
If Nintendo went with DreamWorks instead, I could see them trying Chibi Robo, and I could see DreamWorks handling Star Fox well too. Chances are though, both those franchises are too small now for them to consider taking the risk. Honestly though, moving forward, I hope they move away from Illumination as fast as possible and switch to doing things entirely in house with Nintendo Pictures.
Yeah, yeah, we haven't seen much of the newcomer, I know. Don't care. It'll be on TotK Ganondorf to change my mind, but I doubt it. Right now my vote stands with TP's Ganondorf. While OoT has the best presentation, TP seems the strongest and most badass. WW's only finds initial success because the hero was sent to another timeline and thus he got a head start while the goddesses brought forth a new hero. OoT's doesn't have full control over his beast form, he kinda gets sent into it when he's defeated and loses control. TP Ganondorf on the other hand is only narrowly contained after killing a sage with their own weapon while in the process of being sealed, manages to not only capture but possess and subjugate the will of that game's Zelda, goes right into beast form off the bat, and when it's not working, changes back to human form. He defeats the fused shadows with ease, then chooses to face the hero head on in a sword fight, holds his own against arguably the most skilled Link in terms of swordplay, and when killed, doesn't fall, just dies on his feet like a badass.
Okay no, absolutely not. You don't get to just definitely declare BotW's timeline placement. It DEFINITELY isn't in the adult timeline, not after Spirit Tracks, not after anything in that timeline. BotW has too many features of the original Hyrule. I can see it being after Twilight Princess, though obviously not "right after" it, or I could see Nintendo pulling some kind of shenanigans to unite the timelines and it comes at the end, but terming that as being "after Spirit Tracks" just shows an ignorance of Zelda lore.
