Y'all remember when a game would ship completed? It was magical. I miss those days. Honestly, I'm tired of buying games before their finished being developed. I'm even tired of buying games that just get updates all the time. It's cool that Stardew Valley gets all this free content, but the game I bought and the game I have today aren't even the same game anymore. If I were to fire up Stardew Valley today I'd have to relearn how to play it.
When s Super Nintendo game shipped, that was it. And it was great. The games were great. Today we have the power of Internet and being able to update games and even the people who like those games complain about them constantly. How many times has Destiny been "the greatest game ever!!!" and then an update comes out and those same people are planning Destiny's funeral.
I'm so glad Nintendo shipped Tears of the Kingdom, released a few bug fixes, and then said "ok, she's done." More developers need to do this.
