@3NKI well I'm happy for you but I totally disagree and can only hope that AI dies a horrible death as the bubble bursts and it all goes up in flames. If I used AI in the way you describe i would feel like a fraud, that's not an insult I jydt need my voice to come through in my work and giving over any party of my creative process is giving that away while also stealing other people's work and killing the planet. you see Ready Player One and I see the scorched earth future of the matrix... well, actually I see most uses of AI falling flat on their face . You know even a paid version of ChatGPT loses them thousands of dollars per user per month?
@3NKI thanks for the detailed answer, I can see how that would be useful to you personally and especially while it's free but that won't last, will you get the same value from it when you have to pay constantly increasing monthly subscriptions to use it? Only time will tell.
@3NKI that's an interesting take but what's the point of using AI to create a commercial if it still took 1000s of hours?. Also I'm not convinced yet that it's here to stay as I've seen very little evidence of it being used productively in any creative medium so far and for it to get better it has to get more expensive too and it will continue to get more expensive as investors begin to expect their ROI. Is it not possible that genAI is at its peak now and that the enshittification is just around the corner?
Hi, after reading through this comments section I just had to create an account and say thank you to everyone who is supporting artists and designers. As a mostly solo dev having put out a few semi successful games ( including Nippon Marathon and Super 56) it is really encouraging to see so much support. The whole AI thing often makes me feel like I'll have to give up game dev and that my company will go bankrupt as our beloved industry gets devoured by the AI garbage machine. But really deep down i believe that creative projects and hard work by real people will always have a viable place. And that is thanks to you! It really gives me hope!
I enjoy coding, drawing and 3D modelling so much that I can't ever imagine even wanting to use AI for these tasks. A few tools to mitigate repetition might be ok but anything beyond that is just not needed and I already don't believe it saves time or money in the long run based on its usage so far.
