I've been a Nintendo fan since I got a NES when I was 5. I loved the virtual console on Wii and even paid the $1 to transfer my games to my Wii U. I was looking forward to picking up a SNES mini, but the ridiculousness of the supply made me give up and just emulate all the old SNES games I wanted on my PC.
I thought after the first reveal the dock was horribly designed. Now over a year after launch I can safely say I was right. I really love my switch but I play probably 75% docked and it gets very hot. The only reason the dock covers the screen is so Nintendo could distance themselves from the Wii U.
The difference between PS Plus and Nintendo online is on my PS4 I can back my saves up to a thumb drive even if I don’t have a PS Plus subscription. Nintendo needs to allow saves to be moved to an SD card. Especially since the switch has less internal storage than most phones.
I’d really like to see a Majora’s Mask scenario. Keep the same engine and art style but take the game in a weirder direction. Also get rid of breakable weapons. I found it cool at the start, but after going back for the DLC I like it a lot less.
@Danrenfroe2016 I just bought mine about 2 weeks ago. Oddly though it only happens when I use the Joy Cons split. If they’re on the grip I don’t notice any problems. I’m guessing it could have something to do with how I position them when they’ separate.
I know PUBG is massive, but I have a bit of a problem with an early access title potentially winning game of the year. I have feeling that Mario and Zelda will split the vote and PUBG will win. Also PUBG is the more popular game so that seems to be how these awards go.
I haven’t noticed slow download speeds on my Switch. It crushes my launch PS4(stupid Sony and no 5ghz band). I have noticed if I don’t hold the Joy Cons directly in line of sight with the console they will drop the signal. Oddly for me it is always the right not the left though.
Just let me move my saves to a microSD card. You know like how they let me save to the N64 controller pack 20 years ago. That way I can use an old 16gb for my important save files.
Is that why all purchases are tied to the hardware rather than my Nintendo account? In all honesty though I’ll probably get a second one for my kids down the road. But I have learned my lesson with the 3DS, if a game is available physically I’m buying that way.
While Odyssey has done the impossible, knocking Zelda out of my GOTY, I think I’ll have to give it time before I can make my decision. I might have to replay Galaxy after I’m finished with Odyssey. Mario 64 is my favourite, but I think nostalgia may be influencing me.
Aren't memory prices actually inflated right now? It might just be for PC components though, but SSD's and RAM are crazy expensive right now. Having to do this is no different than any other console. I think Elder Scrolls Online has ballooned to close to 80gb on PS4.
I have just started to see Switches on the shelf at the Wa-Mart where I am in Canada. I'm tempted to buy one, but my backlog is to big right now. I think I'll wait for Mario and possibly a Black Friday bundle. It would have been nice if Nintendo had learned from the Wii U though, 32GB is nowhere near enough. Also has the system been patched so saves can be moved to the SD card from the internal storage?

Re: Random: This Tiny Update Would Make A World Of Difference In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
It would also be nice if a crafting bench in your house had access to all the materials in your storage.
Re: Nintendo Uploads Consumer Service Video Explaining How To Prepare Your Switch For Trade-In Or Sale
Wouldn't the whole process be a lot simpler if I could just backup my saves to a USB drive?

Re: Spewart Hat And Suit Added To Super Mario Odyssey
I personally always roll in the football helmet and underwear.

Re: Topper Hat And Topper Suit Added To Super Mario Odyssey
It looks cool, but it won’t replace my boxer shorts and football helmet ensemble.

Re: Guide: Give Your Switch's Download Speed a Little Boost by Changing the MTU
@Danrenfroe2016 Could be interference. My PS4 and Wii U are both right beside it.

Re: Soapbox: Seriously Nintendo, It's Time For A Switch Joy-Con With A Proper D-Pad
A proper D-pad would be a nice addition, but I'd rather my console have more storage than my phone.
