This is currently my most favorite Virtual Console game I've downloaded, and the best Zelda game, as well. (Obviously in favor of me, not as in general to public audiences.)
Some people find it a bit frustrating how at the end of the game, it is revealed to you that the entire game is in fact a dream Mario had; which means the game 'never existed', almost making it seem as if you did all you could to finish the game, and in the end realize that is was all for nothing. Some people feel that, however I don't.
I remember playing this game some 5 years ago on some weird joystick console that included other games in it's purchase; it was difficult at first, then I became hooked onto it. Not right now, though...
For those of you that have Melee or Brawl (and I can say this because I do in fact own Brawl), this would be a waste of points. Why? Because: 1) Both have much better graphics and gameplay matter than the original. 2) If you have at least one of the Super Smash Bros. (series) games, you are pretty much set, as getting the original is somewhat similar to the newer versions, so nothing of value will be gained. And 3) Certain gaming elements that the newer 2 incorporate make the original look like it has all the originality of 1972's 'Pong'.
The first time I played this game was on my old Game Boy Advance SP; and from some images I've seen, I now know how different the two are, especially in sound quality and effects. A VERY nice game.

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. 2 (Virtual Console / NES)
(Notice how 'Subcon' seems to resemble the shortened version of 'subconscious'.)
Re: Review: Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (Virtual Console / NES)
What's the difference between this one and the first one? They both look the same.
Re: Review: Pac-Attack (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
This is a great game. First time I played it was on my sister's old Gameboy Advance SP.
Re: Review: Break In (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
The graphics are pretty good-looking, actually.
Re: Review: Sky Kid (Virtual Console / NES)
........I don't see anything interesting about this game, to be honest.
Re: Review: Ninja Commando (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
I feel there are too many Ninja games (albeit Ninja Gaiden).
Re: Review: Donkey Kong 3 (Virtual Console / NES)
Yeah, it deserves such a rating. I mean, a spraycan?? Wow.
Re: Review: Splatterhouse 2 (Virtual Console / Sega Mega Drive)
I'd be surpised if Friday the 13th became a Virtual Console game (for the Wii, of course).
Re: Review: Jumpman (Virtual Console / Commodore 64)
Wasn't Mario called "Jumpman" at first?
Re: Review: Wonder Boy in Monster Land (SMS)
Kinda reminds me of Legend of Zelda, except this one is side-scrolling.
Re: Review: Wolf of the Battlefield: MERCS (MD)
It looks...... so-so.
Re: Review: Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
Why does every sequal to an original old game always have to start with "Super"? (Mario Bros. to Super Mario Bros. ect.)
Re: Review: Mappy (Arcade)
I remember playing this game some 5 years ago on some weird joystick console that included other games in it's purchase; it was difficult at first, then I became hooked onto it. Not right now, though...
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
Apparently I've been told this game is one of the best Zelda games out there; albeit the crummy graphics...
Re: Review: Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure (Virtual Console / Sega Mega Drive)
Oh my gosh! I just realized I played this on a PC (yes, a PC) at least 9 years ago! I haven't laid eyes on this game since ever!

Re: Review: Super Return of the Jedi (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
I'm a BIG Star Wars fan, but I'm not crazy about these three games. Why? I dunno.
Re: Review: Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
I am an Indiana Jones fan personally, but I'm not crazy about this game. (The reason for doing so is unkown...)
Re: Review: Super Mario Kart (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
This is a pretty good racing game; especially from it's time.

Re: Review: Super Mario World (SNES)
This is a VERY good game, very much well worth 800 points. (And in my opinion, SMW is easier for me than SMB3.)
