@Serpenterror that's not entirely true, DQ III has been ported to many other Nintendo and Mobile platforms too... maybe is a bad week, gamers are still catching up on Pokemon Z-A, and other games released over the last week or two... but SE has high expectations for DQ I&II globally...
Honestly, what's the point of this visual technical analysis? Nintendo developed games with fun factors, and it is never about advanced visuals to "wow" their consumers. Do you think an average gamer is going to sit in front of their TV and start looking at farm-rate drops or pop-ups??? There is a reason why Nintendo is doing so well in the Japan/Asia region: people are playing games as entertainment/leisure, rather than as a pursuit for tech-savvy gamers or PC Enthusiasts. What the DF or Technical guru publishes will not influence Nintendo. Their business plan is spot-on, while PS5 and XBOX are dieing because they are trying to "wow" consumers with advanced graphics.. which has failed
my two cent 1. Some people brought a PS2 as a DVD Player, not as a Console or PS2... while I don't have the percentage that contributed to the overall 160M figure. 2. The Switch has done very well for 7 years compared to the 13-year PS2... if anything, I would crown the Switch over the PS2 already. Also, it is very likey Nintendo will keep the Switch as an entry portable console like the 3DS...
SE needs to refocus on quality over quantity. I have stopped playing all the new FF series; please bring back the JRPG FF and DQ stuff that we have loved.

DQ I&II launch week sale figures are half of DQ III launch week (804K)... that's very weak for JP...

Dragon Quest is the biggest RPG in Japan... No surprise SE released a free update for DQ III 2D-HD, there are over 1M copies in JP alone.
