Jolly good review Marcel, spot on! I have to say I am enjoying this one, I bought the game for 500 and one DLC pack which I am still playing through. I think when I am done I will buy the remaining two DLC packs as well.
It's a bit of a sneaky approach to pricing I guess as some might think they are getting a full game for 500 points. When you think about it this really is what should have been a full retail game chopped up into 4 parts and sold for the combined price of 2000 Wii points. As such I think it's a bit of a bargain but I can understand others feeling alienated by it also.
@Objection_Blaster - I totally agree, why do people get so stuck on the review score when the review itself adequately explains everything in such detail. In fact this review shows IGNs up by a long chalk, at least the chap took the time to explain all the modes on offer. It is about twice the word count of IGN's paltry effort.
I am looking forward to this on Friday when it hits Europe. Bring it on!
@Marvel_Maniac - Two reviews aimed at different types of readers? What an odd idea, how would anyone know which review applied to them?
I think this review is actually really well balanced and takes both sides of the argument into account. I haven't played MM9 yet, but I now have a clear idea of what to expect.
Some people just strike me as really lazy, they want the rating to tell them EVERYTHING. People need to read the whole review for themselves to decide if the game would suit them or not.
Two reviews and two ratings on the same site? Madness I say!
@PeGe - It just goes to show what a massive ego the head honcho at Bplus has. Such a blind belief in his crappy product that he refused to make the changes needed to make it palatable to the regular consumer. It's as if he designed Platchen purely for his own twisted pleasure.
The sheer audacity to ask 1500 points for it as if it were a first rate game like FF:CC must be applauded, along with the arrogance of agreeing for Nintendo to put it under against heavyweights like Bomberman in Europe and Mega Man 9 in North America.
Seriously this guy must have his head so far up his own a*se that he cannot see any of this, or he is as thick as two short planks.
Oh well, it's his funeral, I just wasted 1500 points on this piece of crap!
Taking into account the preposterous asking price of 1500 points, the lower score given here seems entirely justified to me. Squabbling over a minor difference like this is pointless anyway. Both reviews nicely sum up the disappointment I felt after downloading Plättchen. I wish that I could only get my money back!
@Maka - I wish there was an ignore button for your comments as you are getting seriously boring now. I think we have both stated our respective thoughts on this game quite clearly. Lets agree to differ and leave it at that. Do you really need to keep going on and on about it?
@Maka - This is a very long and detailed review so I don't understand how you can accuse the reviewer of not spending time with this. It seems to me that the game is far too complicated if you have to sit down scratching your head reading the manual just to get any enjoyment out of it. I don't blame him if he got one or two minor fact slightly wrong. It confused the hell out of me too and I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering!
Now I better understand the rules better it doesn't make the game any less tedious to play. I am actually getting a bit bored of you chiming in every other comment and trying to discredit the reviewer. I commend him for persisting long enough with this piece of crap to write the review personally.
I bought this game on sheer impulse on Friday as I have the Wii points available. After 10 minutes of playing I knew I had made a mistake, I just didn't have a clue what was going on.
As there is no page for this yet on GameFAQs I googled for somewhere that could help me make sense of this confusing game and came across this review. Now I understand a bit more about the rules I think I know why I dislike this game so much, it is just the fact that there is too much going on at once.
This line in the review sums it all up for me:
"Plättchen: Twist 'n Paint is the videogame equivalent of trying to pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time; there are too many elements to consider in tandem for this to be considered to be much fun."
I tried going back to it one more time after reading the breakdown of the scoring system, etc in the review this afternoon. It actually helped a lot, but I still didn't enjoy the game as a result. It's really hard to put my finger on exactly what I dislike the most, but it really hasn't clicked with me at all. Very disappointing, I wish I had bought Bomberman instead.

Re: Review: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare)
Here's a 2nd opinion, and a 3rd and a 4th: Metacritic.
The overall average from all 4 reviews is a pathetic 37/100 - ouch!
Re: Review: The Incredible Maze (WiiWare)
LOL another review, another bad score for The Terrible Maze!
1/10 this time OMG what a turd!!
Re: Review: The Incredible Maze (WiiWare)
Quelle surprise! WiiFanboy also gave "The Terrible Maze" 2/10 in their review!

Re: How to play Plättchen - Twist 'n' Paint
Too harsh? I don't think it was harsh enough personally.
Anyway I could hardly understand a word the guy was saying in the video. Maybe they should have added subtitles??!

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen
LOL @ Plattchen having to reduce it's price for America! You couldn't make it up could you? What a disaster

@Zak - That's like taking advice from a bus driver when you want to learn how to win the Formula 1
Re: Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint Going Up Against Mega Man 9
LOL what idiots, going up against Mega Man with this steaming turd is suicide!
