If you are looking for a great story you will not find none better than Virtues Last Reward (or 999, the title that precedes it). The overall plot is mind blowing, and the plot twists are so exceptionally original you will not see all of them (if any) coming.
The game involves a lot of reading (being a visual novel) and some really tricky logic puzzles to solve. So if you do not enjoy reading and/or are not a problem-solver I would not recommend this title. Else wise, this is the best game I have ever played and would likewise recommend it.
