Re: First Impressions: Assassin's Creed III

I'm a big fan of this series. While I've always bought the previous games on the PS3, I'll probably get this one on Wii U just to support the third-party developers who actually put forth the effort to support Nintendo's systems.

It took me awhile to find this game when it first came out. I finally had to go out of town to buy it at a GameStop about a 45 minute drive from where I live. The atmosphere is fantastic, and for a DS game it really is a technical marvel. I would love to see it re-released on the eShop, running in a higher resolution and in 3D.

Re: Talking Point: Five Reasons to Buy a Wii U

I've owned all of Nintendo's systems since the NES (the only exceptions being the Game Boy Micro and DSi XL), and I've never regretted buying any of them. They've all given me more than my money's worth. So, yeah, because "It's a new Nintendo system."

Re: Feature: WiiWare Games That Bit the Dust

It's amazing what some developers were able to accomplish with only 40MB. Look at Shin'en, for example. Jett Rocket, FAST Racing League, Art of Balance... I read somewhere the assets for FAST Racing League were over 900MB, and somehow they squeezed that down to 40 without losing anything. If only all developers had access to the black magic these guys used.

Re: Why the White 3DS XL Didn't Ship to Europe or North America

ChaseGP

I badly want to get a 3DS XL, but the only reason I haven't is because it isn't available in the U.S. in a respectable color. I find it hard to believe that people would rather buy a system that looks like it should be sitting next to a box of crayons rather than a white, silver, or black sophisticated-looking piece of electronic equipment. I'll buy one just as soon as they make silver available.

Edit: Chriiis, you're absolutely right. There is nothing wrong with liking colorful electronics at all! And a lot of people will certainly find simple colors like black, white, and silver to be boring. But some people don't want to spend $200 on a sophisticated piece of electronic equipment that looks like a Fisher-Price toy. More colors is always a good thing, but Nintendo needs to offer at least one standard color option.

Re: Wii U Pre-Order Guide

Anyone waiting for Amazon (US) to make the Wii U available for pre-order is probably going to be waiting for quite a long time. They don't sell Nintendo systems at all anymore and haven't for some time. You can find Wii and 3DS systems on Amazon Marketplace (from various sellers), but not from Amazon themselves. I spent most of today conversing with Amazon customer service before I finally found this out.
