Re: Third Party Developers Share Their Hopes For Nintendo NX

@AlexSora89 Developing on the Wii U was easy... At least for Indie Developers. I don't think I can go into details about my own personal experience with Nintendo, however. I do think the low amount of games for the system was due only because of the low user base of the system. Unfortunately, that's a circular problem.

@Hotfusion But we know the source of the NX can only do 900p rumors. We know it was from a leaked questionnaire sent out to groups of people for marketing, and we know it was not produced by Nintendo. During the Wii U rumor period, there were a lot of rumors about how powerful the system was and a few rumors saying how weak the console was. I really don't see that same kind of attitude from developers regarding the power of the system. They are the ones that usually leak how strong or weak the system is.

And I think we will see 900p, but streaming to the handheld. Why else would a maximum resolution be stated? It doesn't really make any sense to state a maximum resolution since developers are free to have a higher resolution and lower polygon/shader count. However, a screen can certainly can have a cap, and I believe that 900p we heard about is the cap of streaming.

Of course, it's all speculation. I'm pretty impartial. I've grown up, and I've come to accept companies as they are. I also have a computer science degree, and I understand a bit of the tech. However, with the passing of Iwata-san, I believe we will see a new era of Nintendo. I think they realize that the only way to really stay in this industry is competing with their rivals.

We will see what happens in about 2 months .

Honestly, I'm impressed. I remember the Wii and Wii U rumor mill like it was yesterday (and a little bit of Gamecube). I remember most of the information starting out very positive for both, and then devolving into "this system isn't very powerful". I don't see that happening with this system, and that's really promising. All of the rumors have been pretty awesome. By now, I would have expected to see "this console isn't very powerful" from some random person. This is really promising.
