The sticks are a variant of the low profile RKJX2 by Alps Alpine. Their design is very much like the JoyCon sticks with the wipers contacting the resistors on the bottom, you could say they're essentially just upsized JoyCon sticks so I'd be weary about their potential for drift. Alps are also responsible for the sticks used in the previous Pro controller and in the controllers used by PlayStation and Xbox which have had major issues with drift, so them using Alps is nothing new.
For repairability while the sticks are "easily" replaceable getting suitable replacement parts may not be easy, and getting inside the controller itself is not easy. The screws are hidden behind the faceplate which is secured using plastic clips and adhesive.
