@Misima incorrect. All physical media has always been licensed. When you buy a movie on a vhs, dvd, bluray or whatever, you own that specific instance of that movie, not the movie itself. Digital licences are actually better than physical in some ways since with physical if it gets lost or damaged that’s it, it’s gone whereas digital you can redownload it. You are correct to say that you owned the cartridge but the cartridge is simply a way to deliver your licensed copy of the game. If you actually were “buying the game” it would imply that if it got lost or damaged you would entitled to a new copy since you “own” the game, which you don’t and never have. You own a piece of plastic that gives you access to one copy of the game.
@Misima We have always paid for licences even back on NES and SNES. Just because you own the physical cart or disc doesn't mean you own the game. I agree with the sentiment but let's be clear. We have NEVER owned our games in the sense of being able to do whatever we wanted to with them. The same goes with movies and music which is why it has always been illegal to publicly show your copy of a movie to the public. You buy one licence to a copy of the movie/album/game for personal use.

@canaryfarmer no it doesn't. I hate when people say this. Go back and play a PS2 on original hardware not emulation then try comparing.

@Misima Licensing of a copy of a game using physical media is a part of copy right law. Do some research.

Re: Video: Street Fighter 6 Side-By-Side Comparison (Switch 2 & PlayStation 5)
@HugoGED A ps5 disc is pretty much just a card key at this point.
Re: Legacy Of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered Switch eShop Pre-Orders Now Available
@Pillowpants pre downloading it so it’s ready to go immediately is why I do it, if it’s a game I know I’ll like.
