Re: Rumour: NX Software Lineup Will "Blow Away" Wii U, Controller Streaming Gimmick "Was Made Up"

@TheRealThanos Thanks!

@Dakt I'll add that this is the reason she said she's not talking about third-party support this time around. The information in this blog post has holes for third-party games, gimmicks, and specs because all of that is subject to change. There's no reason for her to post anything she doesn't feel comfortable posting when she has already been targeted by fans in the past for naming third-party games coming to the platform.

It's possible (and highly likely) that there really was a lot of western support for the Wii U when it was still in development. However, as developers started working with the dev kits for the PS4 and XBO, the Wii U was a completely different architecture and very behind.

Once again, this is why we won't hear about third-party support in actual leaks this time around. People want to avoid another Wii U situation where everyone wanted to suddenly be an "insider" and cherry-pick the original content to suit their own desires.

It's a human thing. It's an act of perception vs. judgment that we perform subconsciously, whether we like it or not.

Emily doesn't have a time machine. So, she'll use encryption because it's the only way to get her actual point across.

"Be excited for NX software output potential. Stop focusing on alleged hardware leaks. The majority of NX leaks out there are false." Dial the hype levels down a notch and realize there are more things than hardware to be excited for.

I feel like a broken tape recorder. If you want to know more info, look at my thread in the forums on this same topic. Stop running around in circles, dude.

No one is forcing you to believe it. Emily said that herself. It's entirely up to you. If you don't want to believe it, that's fine. But to say that she doesn't have a proven track record is completely uncalled for.

@hiptanaka Yup. He said the NX is something so radically different from the Wii and Wii U that they have to move away from that brand. It's why Nintendo has changed its corporate branding to a white logo over a red background.

@TheRealThanos Agreed with most of your post.

As Emily Rogers stated, it's best not to worry about hardware. Nintendo has the infrastructure down. Third-party support, gimmicks, hardware specs, and more, all are holes in the article purposely left out of the picture because they are always subject to change, whether in development or the long-term after launch.

It is as encryption technique used in journalism and PR/marketing to hide information you know people will retaliate towards if it doesn't end up true because you can't take a time machine to the future.

@ECM 1. Isn't necessary right now. The staff just needed to be merged was all for the time being.

2. A solid point, but it would require games to be far more connected experiences (see: always-online). It certainly wouldn't hurt Nintendo to have a more robust set of eSports titles on the platform, that being said. You cannot really enjoy Splatoon without internet access. Maker you can. Nintendo can maintain flexibility towards always-online experiences and vice-versa very easily, though.

Anything but the Xbox One's initial DRM craze.

If you guys don't want to believe Emily Rogers, then that's honestly your deal. She has a proven track record. That's not all either: 10k was banned on NeoGAF after ZhugeEX made a blog post that exposed some of 10k's speculation as well. 10k was told by his sources, as Emily put it, that the NX would essentially be Wii U 2 (his sources lied to him).

The thought Nintendo would repeat the same mistake with NX is absurd.

She's not talking about anything outside the realm of possibility here. The Wii U library lacks the quality and diversity a Nintendo console has by now for first-party software. That is a fact. The NX having a better library for first-party software is not something difficult to achieve as a result. The holes in the blog post are there because they obviously are subject to change over a platform's life-cycle and development (third-party support, gimmicks, etc.).

Remember, there are Wii U games being ported to the NX. We know it's a given with Zelda and Smash. It'd be stupid for Nintendo not to do so, and if people really think they'd make the same mistakes as the Wii U where first-party software is concerned, I'm seriously shocked.

Miyamoto said they were pushing for aggressive use of their IP going forward as well. This is that aggressive push mentioned.

Relax. It's good to be excited about NX software output. People need to stop getting themselves worked up over rumors like the ones 10k posted and focus on what makes a gaming console so great: the games.

Still my favorite 3D Sonic game to date, hands-down.

This just gives me a reason to go back and start playing it again later tonight on the Wii. I noticed there's a good Steam sale going on for Sonic games right now, too. Lost World included in that mix.
