I feel the same way. I have a modded Wii with every single NES, SNES, Genesis, etc game on it, yet still considered buying some games on the Wii-U VC.

E3 is for the general public in that every major newspaper in North America will cover it, your local news will likely have a segment on it (same thing when they discuss the big car shows, tech shows, etc) and it builds buzz. So yes, its very much for the general public.

But hey, I guess me and the other 98% of people online who report on these matters who view this as a major disaster are wrong, and you and the other 2% of Nintendo fanboys with blinders on who think this is a genius move are correct!

E3 is for the general public, you know, the group who knows NOTHING about the Wii-U or that it even exists! That's who Nintendo needs to advertise their products to. Not Nintendo fans on this website, but to the consumers who don't know or follow what Nintendo is doing closely. They are only preaching to the choir with those Nintendo Directs. Not doing a stage presentation at E3 this year will be a PR disaster, and if you check other (i.e. not biased) gaming websites right now, you will see there are not negative things being said about this move.

I always look forward to E3, especially for Nintendo, so it sucks we wont be seeing anything debuted in front of a cheering audience.

Nintendo is losing cash and cancels their E3 presentation, yet Nintendo fanboys flip the script and act like E3 is what's failing and that Nintendo is the smart one for bailing from that 'sinking ship'?!

Sometimes this place makes my head hurt....

Nintendo is losing money, has a home console many developers and consumers consider dead in the water, and they are not holding a presentation at E3 for the first time in its history....

Can someone pass me what they are smoking that makes them think this is a smart move? Or part of a Nintendo 'master plan'?

All it does is make the general public think Nintendo can't hang with Sony or Microsoft anymore.

This just looks/sounds like Nintendo knows it can't compete with the 720 and PS4, and they are essentially waving the white flag.

I'm looking forward to the second batch of Wii-VC releases. Hopefully they put up some good games like Tetris, Urban Champion, Wrecking Crew and NES Golf.

Wow...you really think what THQ was doing with the WWE license was worthwhile?? Those games have been crap for several years and I'm glad 2K got the licence. They are actually good at making sports games, so I doubt very much that their efforts will prove to be worse than the garbage THQ peddled.

Bought the game day one, only played it for like 4-5hrs since then, and looking to sell it right now and pick up Luigi's Mansion instead. I really wanted to get into this game, but I don't have the time it requires right now.

Contra III should be on this list, and Star Fox is basically unplayable at this point in time. It was impressive back then, but it has aged terribly.

In all parts of Asia (outside Japan), South America, Africa and the Middle East probably 90% of the Nintendo DS's sold were likely use in conjunction with a flash cart. That's the big reason the NDS sold so much, same with the Wii and PS2. All three systems were very easy to pirate software for.

Check out other websites. There was a demo that was made playable for some gaming writers. It's laughable you would think this guy made this up based on watching the eshop demo.

I felt the same. Played the N64 version for hundreds of hours, yet never owned and never really got into the GameCube release.

You must be thinking of another game, cause this game was the exact opposite.

It's funny seeing hardcore Nintendo fans on a Nintendo-centric website talk about how they put 500+ hours into playing Wii Sports and Mario Galaxy and thinking that's the norm. Sorry, but you guys are the exception. The vast majority of Wii owners moved on a looooong time ago.

Much like the Amazon Vita/PS4 advertising fiasco, I believe that the Sony Corporation is paying off criminal elements to hijack and destroy shipments of Wii-U titles in order to slowly erode Nintendo's business. The simple explanation that Nintendo underestimated demand does not suffice. There is a conspiracy going on people, WAKE UP!!!!

Its a new "generation" between the PS4, 720 and Wii-U, but you can't disregard what happend in the last one. Since 2006, Xbox and Sony established themselves as the "go to" systems for sports games, especially the EA ones. This same mentality among consumers will carry forward to these new systems as well, meaning that the Wii-U won't be the system you will buy if you want to play realistic sports sims that have competitive online communities. Nothing Nintendo can do at this point will ever change consumers minds on this.

EA doesn't need Nintendo to be successful, and Nintendo doesn't really need EA either, so whats supposed to bring these companies back together?

Most people (correctly) view Nintendo as a secondary console now, one that compliments either a PS or Xbox quite nicely*. Sony and Microsoft consoles have already established themselves as the home for EA Sports games, due almost entirely to their large competitive online communities, something a Nintendo console has never had.

If around 60-70% of Nintendo console owners also own one of these other systems (just a guess, no numbers to back this up but it seems about right), and with most of those owners likely to choose the Sony or Microsoft EA Sports offering for the larger online community, why should EA chose to make Nintendo versions of these titles when they won't sell as well?

*or the PS/Xbox systems compliment your Nintendo

Anyways, I must go now. Need to get back to playing the game changing Zombi-U, then the ground breaking Tank! Tank! Tank!

Unlikely. Nintendo obviously launched the Wii-U a year early in hopes of getting a head start on the other companies. The PS4 and 720 are being launched on schedule, and will have many first party and exclusive titles ready when they come out.

God, some of you are so paranoid it's sad...

I heard the US Amazon site stopped selling the 3DS because they got too many complaints/returns regarding hinges on them. In fact, I believe this reason was published on the product page as well. The Canadian site sells everything though, so it appears to just be a US issue.
