Rumour: Xenoblade Chronicles Voice Actor Might Have Leaked Evidence Of A New Release

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Uncut Edition that's closer to the original Japanese version of the game, please. I'd pick that up as soon as I could if it happened. A man can dream.

I hope this and the Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition are real rumors. I’d be so happy.

Based on prior releases, I think nothing. XC3 coming out mere two years after XCDE was already a nice surprise, but anything ONE YEAR after a similar enhanced port, especially with Takahashi & Co likely busy with a new numbered entry supposedly turning a whole new page in the flagship chronicles? Seeing will be believing here, and I shouldn't have to specify the range of sources to provide the legitimate seeing here. And as far as "definitive editions" go, XC2 is even harder to pull off because, like XC3 afterwards, it has already had a big story expansion. If anything, I'd be more inclined to humour a hypothetical mistake in the page update (which seems to be Tuesday around the industry anyway) and, heck, maybe something different but similarly juicy like a new PXZ or even honest Xenosaga ports behind it all.

I think it's XC2 SW2E. I could be wrong, but that's my guess.

So Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 Edition with some small new content that links in Xenosaga a bit more?

The needs to be in the next Direct or people will start selling their consoles.

More than anything what I want from the series right now is a remaster of 2. It's my favorite game in the series and it's also the one I think is most showing its age.

If we finally get those Switch 2 editions, i will finally play the games for the first time!
After trying X on Wii U and 1st game Definitive Edition on Switch 1 i've been holding them off as i wasnt huge fan od the resolution and framerates as imo those games deserve better with how huge their worlds games for example, look how much BOTW and TOTK got hugely improved thanks to their Switch 2 Editions and hope that all Xenoblade games gets the same treatment

Do they not tell voice actors what they're signing when they hand them an NDA? I feel like this happens way too often.

Anyway, I'm still working my way through Baten Kaitos Origins, and have been hoping to get some Switch 2 upgrades before starting X DE or 3's NG+. They can take their time on the next game as far as I'm concerned.

I can't see it being a new game, since Kos-Mos would be a nightmare to include in any role of significance. I could see a cameo, or a Switch 2 Edition of XC2- but that's pretty much about it.

They're not going to put a character that hardly any Xenoblade fan actually knows about in the next game as a prominent character, and we can rule out a XenoSaga remake or remaster because Bandai Namco has said numerous times they're not interested in remaking or remastering Saga.

Please no more "remasters" just bring a new entry build for the switch 2.

A remaster of Xenoblade 2 with all the anime nonsense toned down and no quest backtracking would be a dream.

I would like to see this game remastered as the original was a 200 hour long game, makes me wonder how pyra and mythra will look tho.

@xenobladexfan I'd imagine they'd just keep the same art style but polish it up a bit more. Wouldn't expect any massive changes on par with Xenoblade 1 DE or X DE.

Very exciting news I basically bought my Switch 2 for MK and Xenoblade. But I'm worried about censorship if they decide to do a Definitive Edition. Maybe a Switch 2 Version would be the better outcome, less chances for them to change content. A new game would be what I really want of course but 2026 seems a bit early for that.

Whatever it is, I hope they take their time. I would love to see Switch 2 versions of the games, though.

Just let my new Switch 2 hardware run the existing games at docked resolution... It really sucks we have to wait for the devs to sell us a settings unlock, or if we're lucky, maybe even for free?

I really do feel like this might be the final console generation I ever buy into. Feels like such a scam when you have things like steam deck and pc.

Can we stop re-releasing games over and over? I want something new. The original on the Wii isn't even that old, never mind the Switch sequels.

@CaptainQuo Man, The Xenoblade games really need Switch 2 upgrades! I understand you are angry about Animal Crossing and Mario Wonder rereleases, as those really didn't need much, but the Xenoblades...? They look very bad in handheld! Especially XC2.
A Switch 2 version is a must.

For new games, since June last year, you got MK World, DK Bananza, Pokemon ZA, Hyrule Warriors AoI, Kirby Air Riders, Metroid Prime 4 and now Mario Tennis Fever.
7 games in 9 months. That's not bad at all! Games take time to be developed, you know.

Hopefully it's a new game or a spinoff and not just Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Special Edition. Or if they are indeed releasing a remake of XC2, at the very least I hope they'll tone down the juvenile and embarrassing fanservice of the original game. Then I might consider actually buying it.

What'd be nice is if we got a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles X. The kind of cliffhanger they left it on makes that story ripe for a continuation. Besides, we never did get the reason as to why the Mimeosomes in XCX were still able to function when the Lifehold Core ceased to operate.

@AstroTheGamosian I thought that cliffhanger was adressed in the Switch version (I haven't played yet). Oh well, then it REALLY needs a sequel haha.
And after the sequel, I'd encourage them to move on to other series. A new IP from Momolith would be awesome!

@the_beaver I'm not angry about it at all, just find the obsession with spending huge sums of money to re-purchase games we can already access or play hugely concerning.

Like when people say "I'm not really interested in this but I will buy it to support the developer" - you don't have to spend money on luxury goods for its own sake.

I never used to hear people constantly talk about backlogs or buying games and not even opening them because they are playing others. Now it seems people just buy stuff for no reason.

Unless people are not being honest with themselves about why they really buy games.
