Welcome to the Theory Corner, folks. Put on your tinfoil hat and grab your tinfoil popcorn, because today we're going to be diving deep into some intricate, confusing, entirelyspeculative Pokémon lore.
Of course, this is post-game lore, so please — if you haven't finished the game, or you don't want to know about potential updates and DLC, don't read on!
With that out of the way, let's take a look at the swirling void of spoilers that constitute this latest Pokémon Scarlet and Violet theory.
The simple version: It looks like there's a secret in Pokémon ScarVi's Area Zero. Is it a Pokémon? A new area? A discovery about Paldea's past? All of the above?! No one knows. Yet.
The more complicated version: A Pokémon player known as The SkabRabbit on Twitter has outlined some discoveries in Scarlet and Violet that seem to hint at the existence of some more post-game content, potentially DLC. By cross-referencing the history books in the game with the artifacts found in Area Zero, the community believes they have found hints of... something. They're just not sure what.
In Professor Turo's lab, there are mentions of a disk-like being, made of "layers of overlapping hexagons", which may or may not be a Pokémon — it certainly doesn't match the appearance of any known 'mons. It is theorised within the game that this being is the cause of Terastallizing. But this is just the surface level. It goes deeper.
Examining the available information in the game, The SkabRabbit demonstrates the recurrence of the number four — four Ruinous Pokémon, four symbols on the title screen, four co-op players, four missing entries in the Hall of Fame, four circles in the strange metal plate in Area Zero...
...it all seems to tie together nicely. Except that there are still some loose threads. First of all, there are mysterious artworks in Artazon that weren't made by Brassius, all of which seem to be based on the themes of paradox, time, and strange geometry.
And there's the Poco Path lighthouse, which you can visit in the post-game. It looks like it's been abandoned for a long time, and yet, there are signs of the kitchen being used recently. Used by whom?
The SkabRabbit also thinks that there may be some correlation between the symbol for Area Zero and the map itself, as it seems to line up with where the settlements are on the map itself when superimposed.
Of course, all of this might just be speculation. But it's not entirely out of the question that the loremasters at Game Freak are planning something big. Remember the Braille puzzle in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire that unlocked the Regis? Or the Ruins of Alph in Gold and Silver? Even in Scarlet and Violet, it turns out that there's an Easter Egg to do with Team Star that shows that the designers had secrets in mind.
We wouldn't be surprised if all this business with sandwiches and art and circles is laying the groundwork for future DLC with new legendaries, but we don't have any solid answers yet... just questions.
Have you noticed any cool secrets in Pokémon Scarlet and/or Violet? Tell us your thoughts and theories in the usual place.

There is 3 Pokémon in total (3rd legendary the one behind Terastal Phenomenon, Ancient/Past Paradox Suicune, Future Paradox Virizion) that will be most likely part of big free update or paid DLC!
I'm mostly just hoping the DLC adds 1), more than the like a combined eleven new Pokemon or forms that SwSh did, and 2), rematches with the Elite Four.
The pain of not being able to look at this article until after I've beaten the game is going to kill me.
I do hope we get DLC for SV though. Say what you want about the state of the game (and trust me: a lot has been said) but the DLC for SwSh turned it from good at best to one of the best overall packages the series has ever seen (I'd even argue more than game like USUM and Emerald honestly) so if we could get something of a similar scale to that? I would be over the moon.
Especially if they give us the Gen 6 starters, THEY'RE IN THE CODE I KNOW THEY EXIST.
I thought this was a reference to the room the final battle is in. It's the same shape.
WHO DO YOU USE THE MASTER BALL ON?
I already have Miraidon and caught the Shrine Pokemon with Ultra Balls.
Answers on a postcard.
@WaltherP99 you can get two box legendary and 4 stake pokemons, so... it kinda obvious that you should use on lechonk.
Looks like I should have waited my buy out til the Complete version releases in 8 months.
Yeah I was thinking about this game getting an Expansion Pass eventually. Two parts just like SwSh.
The first one could serve as a sequel to the game's story which would lead to the third legendary and could unlock more secrets and functions in the overworld.
The second one, well... I don't know, anything! (there must be a reason for the Kalos starters to be there in the game's code right?)
But maybe that's too soon right now. The game currently could use some free DLC to improve. Daybreak update?
@WaltherP99 : Master Balls should only ever be used on a shiny, particularly one with the likelihood of running away, killing themselves (with Self-Destruct, Explosion, Memento etc.), or otherwise using a move that will abruptly end the battle (such as Roar). I encountered a shiny Metang in Shield (The Crown Tundra), and it was repeatedly using Take Down as well as being damaged by hail, so, it was nice to have a Master Ball as a back-up (fortunately, I didn't end up needing to use it, but it was getting pretty damn close to finishing itself off!).
Using them on non-shiny legendaries is a total waste as you can just save before the encounter and try again if you've wasted too many balls.
I don't even remember ever using a Master Ball except in Gen III because I was able to clone the absolute hell out of them in Emerald, and it made capturing Latias/Latios more tolerable (and possibly the rest of the legendaries, barring Rayquaza).
@WaltherP99 Aan Mewtwo
It's obviously a Jigglypuff as seen from above.
Jokes aside, if they're indeed doing DLC for Scarlet/Violet, I hope they also make a physical version that includes the DLC on the cart, kind of like what they did with Sword/Shield. I'd get the game if that were the case regardless of its performance.
Eh, it's just another motorbike.
The Gen Six starters might just be a raid event?
Yeah I was wondering where the third legendary was?? I believe Arven also references the hexagon-mon when having a conversation about whatever attacked Mabosschif in area Zero. I haven't gone back there much since I finished the game but I'd like to find out what attacked mabosschif and why. Good DLC potential all around 😄
To be fair to Game Freak, they are really good at foreshadowing things
Lillie goes to Kanto > So do we in Let's Go
Method of obtaining Spiritomb in Crown Tundra > Diamond and Pearl reference
I know some have speculated where SV hints may be in Gen 8 but til something is confirmed, we'll see.
That said, the painting at the players house in SV has the title 'Street, Midday' and depicts a 'beautiful town in a different region'. Also the mysterious machine at the lab seems a little suspicious too..
Hope the dlc will add more pokemon than that has already been datamined to be home transfer only
Speaking as someone who hasn't played S/V, I really don't feel spoiled at all from having read this... though I also don't feel like it actually amounts to anything except the literally spelled-out mythical progenitor poke in that book.
I get that some people out there will cry spoiler from seeing two pixels of a game character's ankle, but there's really absolutely nothing of substance here, at least not without the context of actually getting to it in the game.
