After having a lot of fun with Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time when we reviewed the game last year, we have been eager to hear more news about the orange blur. An upcoming fan project from Unknown Door Games seems to do just that, though in a slightly less official release/full game kind of way.
Posting their progress on Twitter yesterday (thanks, Eurogamer), the developer announced that their fan-made title, Crash 'N' Dance, would be a remake of Crash Nitro Kart's secret Crash minigame 'Crash Party USA', something of a button-mashing/dance-mat/bandicoot hybrid that we never knew we needed.
In a short video demonstrating the game's first two rounds, FierceTheBandit shared the following tweet, with the promise that further updates will be coming soon:
'Crash Party USA' (formally called 'Crash Party') debuted as a secret minigame in Vicarious Visions' GBA edition of Nitro Kart, before appearing with its more common title in the Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy and Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage console crossover. The game could only be accessed on GBA by holding down 'L' and 'R' when firing up the system and rewarded final-level bonuses if completed.
FierceTheBandit's remake looks to employ the same button-timed gameplay as the original and even employs a GBA-inspired pixel art style for an extra nostalgia kick. We think this is a substantial upgrade over the original's 3D look (video below) and are excited to see Crash bust more moves as progress is made on this remake.
We don't have any news on exactly when we will be able to take Crash 'N' Dance for a spin, but we are certainly ready to get back into the Wumpa Island vibes as soon as we can.
What hidden minigame would you like to see get the remake treatment? Leave your mini-dreams in the comments below.

I am a fan of Crash, but did not know about Crash Party USA. Interesting!
That's quite the headline.
I remember uncovering this on my copy of Crash Bandicoot N-Tranced and thinking I’d stumbled into the Bermuda Triangle. Never expected to see it surface again lol.
I wouldn't really call this a remake its more of sequel just unofficial.
Both are ripoffs of Donkey Kong Country's Candy Kong Dance Studio mini-game.
I appreciate the effort and all that, but I gotta say that looks quite boring.
I had Spyro Orange as a kid and learned about the secret minigame from one of those cheat books they’d sell at book fairs lol. Yes, an actual book.
A secret game within a game blew my mind back then. I played the hell out of it. Right in the nostalgia, man.
