As the dust settles on September's Nintendo Direct presentation, Square-Enix has revealed that Octopath Traveler, the studio's HD-2D RPG, has now shipped and digitally sold over 3 million copies.

It's a solid milestone for the game that originally launched on Nintendo Switch back in 2018, before making its way to PC in 2019, Google Stadia in 2020, and Xbox platforms in 2021.

Of course, in case you missed the big news, Square-Enix announced that Octopath Traveler II is now on the way to Nintendo Switch, due to launch on February 24th, 2023. You can check out the debut trailer below for a wee reminder of what to expect.

As for the first game, its an experience that we here at Nintendo Life wholeheartedly recommend. We awarded the game a score of 9/10 in our review, stating that "we’d recommend Octopath Traveler to both fans and newcomers of RPGs" and that "the game does a fantastic job of straddling that line of accessibility and depth, satisfying both camps with its dizzying amount of content".
