Mario Kart Wii Wheel

In the hundreds of hours you spent playing Mario Kart Wii with the Wii Wheel, did you ever once dream of driving your own vehicle in real life with that same peripheral? Well, one fan has made this a reality, and gone one step further, by ‘Wii-ifying’ his car.

Go Nintendo has shared the work of TikTok star @ttptng – Tyler Atkin. Tyler is attempting to revamp his car by using Wii peripherals. That means the steering wheel is – obviously – the Wii Wheel. But he hasn’t stopped there, as Tyler has installed a fully-functioning Wii into his dash, has replaced the top of the shifter with a nunchuck, and has even changed part of the handbrake!

Playfully named the Wiiata, this Tyler has shown how the vehicle still works with all of these modifications over on his TikTok. And there’s not a banana peel in sight!

But we have a question: what happens if you remove the Wii Remote? Is it vital for the car’s performance? Would it even work?

Someone should modify a tiny little Mini Cooper next with this. We’re not sure we’d chance driving around London in it, but it looks like a whole lot of fun.

Tyler is still finishing up work on the car, and we can’t wait to see what else he ends up doing with it! Any room for the Wii Zapper in there, perhaps? And how would the Balance Board work with it?
