Retro-Bit, the retro gaming stockist and publisher, has revealed its very first Game Boy release for arcade-come-Game Boy classic Avenging Spirit.

Not many people may have heard of this forgotten classic, but it's absolutely one worth digging up. Released on the game Boy in 1992, and later brought to the 3DS's Virtual Console, despite the adorable-looking ghost on the cover, you actually can't stay as a ghost for too long, and must possess various people in order to survive ā€” all to find your girlfriend!

Of course, a spooky game needs a spooky limited edition to match, and what's more fitting than a glow-in-the-dark cartridge!

Okay, this is too cute ā€” how can a game that looks this adorable be that dark?

Not only is this a lovely, unique limited release, but the cartridge also contains missing scenes from the end game and the Expert Mode hint screen for the very first time outside of Japan!

This physical release will cost $44.99/ā‚¬49.99 and you can find out where to pick it up in both North America and Europe on this page right here. The pre-order period is open now and closes on 3rd July, so you've got a little bit of time to snag up this spooky little game. In our review of the game back in 2011, we called the game, "addictive and deliciously dark", and you can read our thoughts below:

Have you ever played Avenging Spirit before? Will you be picking up this cartridge? Let us know!
