With the Metropolitan Tour coming to a close, Mario Kart Tour is lining up its next major update. The Bangkok Tour will see players take to the streets of Thailand's capital, with the new track boasting some beautiful colours and lighting throughout. We get a really nice glimpse of the Chao Phraya River, filled with boats that you might need to somehow navigate around as you race your foes.
Nintendo previously hinted at the new tour with a rather delightful piece of artwork via Twitter:
As per the norm, the Bangkok Tour will introduce new gear to the mix, with a particular focus on Daisy, who bags a swanky new outfit and kart.
The new tour will go live on June 28th at 11pm PT.
Will you be trying out the new update for Mario Kart Tour? Let us know with a comment!

Surely we’re due the next batch of DLC for MK8 Deluxe soon?
We’re getting six waves of DLC that will finish at the end of 2023 - by my calculation, that should mean new updates every 3 and a half months to 4 months or so on average if Nintendo are consistent with when they launch them - the first wave launched in March 18th, so it’s been just over three months now..
Of course this comes out the day before this rumoured Direct. Because of course.
On another note, I wonder who it is who draws these Tour promo illustrations because I absolutely love the style they have.
(insert Daisy Bangkok joke here)
@Fizza think we’re all massively anticipating another Direct by this stage now..
Sawasdee Kart, sabai dee Mario?
Sabai dee Kart.
@Andy77mk 8 waves. so whatever happens there won't be an even space between future waves.
@HaNks possible confusion - there’s 6 waves of 8 tracks..

12 cups in total, we’ve had 2 so far, meaning there are five more waves between now and the end of 2023 - 18 months between now and December ‘23, and it’s been just over 3 months since the first DLC, meaning an average of around 3 and a half months for each new wave if they’re going to keep consistent..
@Andy77mk oooh that makes sense now. so the next one should be dropping real soon regardless.
@SteamEngenius Doing Daisy on Hard in the Bangkok Tour.
Where is da Muay Thai ?
So the rumors were true. Looking forward to racing on this Bangkok track.
@Andy77mk
Was gonna ask the same question
About time we had the new MK8 tracks.
Also I hope they are top end tracks, the first wave were a bit hit and miss.
@Andy77mk
We could do with another direct for the following.
Splatoon 3 more info on campaign
MK8, next wave of tracks and some time line on the other waves for this year.
Bayonetta 3.
@Dezzy70 yes, to all of the above..
Would be nice if we got a Direct next week, with the next wave of tracks available to download as soon as the Direct finishes..
As for a wish list for the Direct - I’d love to see an unexpected announcement of a Nintendo IP (take your pick)
As much as I love seeing footage on games we know about, the biggest excitement for me is when the big games get announced in the first place (although Prime 4 and Bayo 3 were announced FAR too early)
That promo art looks GORGEOUS.
@Andy77mk
For my ultimate direct dream say for June would be a surprise Mario Odyssey 2 or new Mario or Donkey Kong platform game being released this year Christmas.
Apart from Mario odyssey and the add on Bowsers Fury, Nintendo in house AAA studios have given us not a brand new platform game in over 5 years.
It used to be Nintendo bread and butter, and as they don’t produce for a separate hand held console now it’s about dam time.
@Dezzy70 I’d love to see a new Donkey Kong game - the Kremlings and K.Rool need to return to the series!
As much as I enjoyed Returns and Tropical Freeze, those games didn’t have the same heart due to the enemy lineup.
I’d also love a new 2D Mario, but one that feels like a proper evolution of the series - the ‘new’ series really underwhelmed me, and offered little to nothing in terms of innovation compared to the NES/SNES games.
As more ‘out there’ choices, would love to see a new Wave Race or F-Zero game. I’m sure there’s countless other forgotten Nintendo franchises that would be welcomed back as well..
Huh that leaked ice cream track still hasn’t shown up it’s got to be coming soon.
@Andy77mk
I think an expansion of their studios would help, they just need more staff to get these great franchises with new games out for Switch.
@Dezzy70 absolutely. It still makes no sense to me that developers like Shin’en Multimedia weren’t asked to develop an F-Zero game after the work they did with Fast Racing Neo / Fast RMX.
And I know they’re now attached to Prime 4, but what were Retro Studios doing between 2014 when Tropcial Freeze wrapped up development to 2019 when Nintendo asked them to step in and develop Prime 4?
Also weird that the Pikmin game that Miyamoto said was nearly done way back in 2015 hasn’t appeared in any shape or form..
There are certain things Nintendo don’t do to help themselves at times..
One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but their pearls ain't free
You'll find a god in every golden cloister
And if you're lucky, then the god's Daisy
I can feel an angel slidin' up to me
@Andy77mk
Like most businesses they are probably lead in some way financial decisions and what game is right or wrong to develop at that time.
Shame, we just want the top AAA titles that we know Nintendo in house can produce.
Absolutely Retro and some others, god knows what they are doing or trying to produce game wise.
No disrespect to the Switch but it is not like they are producing games on a power house console taking up so much graphical development time.
I can't believe all this awesome extended extra effort and support being done to the one Mario Kart game that happens to be a free mobile game, and yet Nintendo fails at properly supporting the games they've already released on Switch... is really disappointing when you compare them, so sad...
(Not including Smash Ultimate, Sakurai did a phenomenal job at supporting that gem)
I don't know much about Tour but when I saw daisy in that outfit I was all "hell yeah" until I saw the white heels... she's literally standing in a moving vehicle in heels.
Anyhow everything looks so good.
Man who walk through door sideways - always going to…
My apologies for dredging up this horror of a dad joke. Had to be done
@Anti-Matter Oh? Isn't that an extremely [email protected]** type of boxing that originated in Thailand? 🤔
@TowaHerschel7
Yup.
Thailand is well known with Thai Boxing sport.
Daisy always gets top tier skins in this game it's kinda funny
