The world of Hyrule in 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is pretty huge. From the peak of Death Mountain to the small settlement of Gerudo Town, there's an almost limitless sense of freedom as you roam about the land.
What if you could go beyond the designated borders, however? Officially, you can't of course, but that hasn't stopped known Breath of the Wild YouTube channel Gaming Reinvented from accomplishing such a feat.
As described in the video below, if you head to the clifftop west of Tabantha Tower, you can explore this area with no restrictions (granted, a bit of trickery may be required to actually reach the area). Unlike other areas beyond the map's borders, you won't fall through the ground or encounter any other 'glitches'; you can run around, summon a horse, fight enemies, and even drive around on the Master Cycle Zero.

It doesn't look that interesting to explore though
The guy narrating sounds like a total geek, and not representative of our hobby at all.
@johnvboy He's a lot more representative of our hobby than the perfect folk Nintendo use on their TV adverts
Isn't this a repost? Sure, I haven't read the article or watched the video, but I distinctly remember an article here a couple of years ago where someone exploited glitches to escape the map.
probably a spot they intended to use but decided not to at least until the sequel
Meh.. Not that interesting
Man, we are really starved for BOTW 2 content are we? I'm starting to see a lot of mini articles on BOTW 1 content here lately but nothing groundbreaking or worth noting since BLSS glitch was discovered for speed running.
@Clyde_Radcliffe,
So true, T.V adverts in general for any product are rarely representative of everyday people, but I get your point.
@gcunit I think that was weeks ago, not years ago. Because even though I own this game and STILL haven't gotten around to playing it, I read these articles about this game and think, "oh man that's cool maybe I should play the game and experience that for myself!" before going off and doing something completely unrelated to video games. So yeah... the last article talked about finding the absolute furthest out-of-bounds edges of the game's map, but this one is about finding an out-of-bounds area that you can actually interact with. As a side note, I think that's pretty cool and maybe I should play the game and experience that for myself!
I actually would have found this interesting way back when I played the game incessantly.
Was Janet Street Porter narrating lol?
Hoping to do just this in the sequel.. if it ever arrives
@gcunit there was one back in 2020 that involved clipping under the map, but this method seems WAY easier
