Earlier this year, Nintendo announced its intention to open Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood, after the roaring success of its debut theme park in Osaka, Japan.
It looks like development of the new attraction is coming on nicely, thanks to a recent video taken by theme park enthusiast Ethan Becker (via Theme Park Tribune). In Ethan's photos, you'll be able to see that the pyramids in the desert area look to be complete, but perhaps more interestingly, you can clearly see a couple of Piranha Plants installed, currently wrapped up to protect their pretty heads.
Bowser's Castle is also looking pretty nice, with all three main turrets fully installed. Overall, while the park certainly looks pretty similar to Japan's version, it does look like some of the aesthetic - such as the addition of the pyramids - will set the Hollywood theme park apart from its Osaka sibling.
We'll be keeping an eye on the development of the park over the coming weeks and months. We've still got a little while to go until its completion, however, with Nintendo setting a '2023' opening window for customers.

The wrapped up piranha plants look like mushrooms to me. Now they just need painted to fit the theming better.

Meanwhile here in Ireland the best we have are a bunch of boring bland towns and beaches with little to nothing going on at them. Everyone says how lovely Ireland is but to me an Irish man who was born and has spent his whole life here there really isn't anything special about Ireland. Seeing this just makes me realise how little we have as far as tourism goes and it's quite depressing tbh.

Never been, but from what I understand a large part of the appeal of Ireland is how unspoilt the countryside is;
It would be rather eccentric for a global company to open a theme park in a country with a population of 5 million.
@Franklin I hear ya but at the same time it's nice to be able to go somewhere where it's buzzing. Here in Ireland Idk it just seems to be lacking there when compared to other countries.

I didn't know the Hollywood version will be open as soon as next year. Thats awesome as I'll be over there for work a few times, world health/politics permitting
@RubyCarbuncle Well for many people, myself included, the comparatively untouched natural beauty of Ireland is precisely what it makes it such a great tourist destination.
But if its theme parks you want, theres loads of really good ones in the UK just across the pond, and Disneyland Paris (which in my admittedly biased opinion is the nicest of all the Magic Kingdom style parks) is only a 45 min train ride from London, once you're here

@RubyCarbuncle. I think a lot of people feel that way about where they live if it's not famous for something. I live near Orlando and it is a great place to visit but it is a really mess of cars and roads. I wouldn't want to actually live there.
I am looking forward to when they built the new park in Orlando with the Nintendo park.
