Five years ago, almost to the day, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released on the Nintendo Switch, and all of us were blown away by its gorgeous open world, its stunning vistas, and its pleasantly minimalist piano soundtrack. Five years later, people are using it as an artistic medium to draw big pictures of The Snooty Bird Guy Everyone Loves To Hate.
Hey, we're not complaining — pretty much every time we write about Breath of the Wild these days, it's to celebrate the mad creativity of players, and this is no different!
Although, having said that, this particular Revali portrait is a little different, because it's entirely made out of lightning weapons, which means you can electrify it.
The same artist has also created non-electric portraits, like this one of Mipha offering a gift:

The amount of hours you must have to have that many swords, to collect that many, and just with how much the community has still been figuring out, and keeping them self's busy with till BOTW 2 arrives, this game really does deserve the title "Open world" Because it just is, and it does it really well.
BotW community and content never ceases to amaze. I love seeing all these cool discoveries, tricks, glitches, and interesting ways people play the game.
I'm also surprised the game can even handle that amount of dropped weapons in one place!
Unbelievable. I don't think this game will ever die tbh. In 30 years time websites will still be posting stuff like this along with things you can do in the game.
That's not how the swords were meant to be used!😠
(😉)
@Snatcher They most likely used the weapon duplication glitch to get those swords, but the dedication is still super impressive!
So err... do the swords not disappear then? How do you gather so many? I played BotW loads, but it was a long, long time ago... so just a suggestion to maybe explain a bit more in the article about what's happening here, rather than just showing it !!
The way he electrified them is super cool
@nocdaes Its most likely what @ThornyFox said.
But the tweets are in Japanese, idk how you would know whats going on LOL.
Still the greatest open world ever made. It’s not even close. It’s genuinely open.
The physics system just holds up no matter what you throw at it- I’ve never seen anything like it.
Pff, Smash Bros has more swords than this.
All joking aside, that's really awesome and the way they light the swords up with lightning is really awesome too!
@Snatcher Sure it's open, but the lack of anything to actually do in it makes it all pointless.
@UglyCasanova Thats the thing, there is just so much to do! this article proves that.
Wow! must have used a duplication glitch to get that many swords , but impressive nevertheless!
You have to be a mad genius to come up with something that cool, honestly.
The amount of physics involved in every step of Breath of the Wild makes something like that electric wave possible.
Kudos to the person probably spending hours making that as well as whoever came up with that idea in the first place. Duplication glitch or not, this is impressive.
When I see a trend or a new exploit 5 years after the initial release, I can only imagine how they will break BOTW2 when it releases before Nintendo patches the biggest exploits.
The tweets just say:
[Revali]
I figured I’d electrify it, and it was miraculously conductive. Unbelievable!

In life I always wanted to get Valentines chocolate from a girl like Mipha.
No details on how the heck he accomplished that art, sadly. I do love how people have such fun in the BOTW sandbox. 😁
@KateGray Are you guys gonna do a write up on the Cowabunga Collection?
Reminds me of the Nazca Lines in Peru.
Sword Art...online...I honestly couldn't hold back from that subtitle. That's definitely one of the best so far.
Reminds me of that Art Attack show with that Neil guy.
I saw the videos online and wondered how they did it, that it great and as @Euler said, its is very Neil Buchanan from Art attack.
@UglyCasanova There has never been an open world game with more fun stuff to do around every corner. What are you talking about? You can’t turn your head without seeing a new challenge.
@ModdedInkling I gasped OUT LOUD when I wrote it.
No thanks. I wouldn't even want to do that with real swords.
Very cool and creative. Especially the lightning effect.
