"It’s Pokémon, but not as you know it" seems to be the tagline for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which is a pretty good way of summing up our thoughts on it, too. But The Pokémon Company's latest advert for the game, which is based on the idea that it's new and different, is a little... strange.
A Muppet-like puppet of Munchlax is shown causing trouble on a cooking reality show by stealing potatoes and throwing vegetables everywhere, much to the annoyance of the head chef.
And that means that you should... play Pokémon Legends: Arceus, because it's unusual? And Munchlax being a nuisance in the kitchen is unusual, too? The message may not be 100% clear, but we can't complain too much about ol' Munchy getting his time in the spotlight as some kind of Swedish Chef-Animal hybrid. Also, the Muppet angle is very cute.
If we have entirely missed the message of this trailer, and you have an explanation, please inform us in the comments. Otherwise, tell us which Pokémon you'd like to see Muppetified next!

But where can I buy that eggplant lasagna?!!!!!
He was hungry lol. He looks so cute unlike his evil brother snoralax which uses hyper beam to kill you lol.
oh to be a Munchlax, casually raiding a kitchen.
...So when do we get a commercial starring a model/actress Lopunny?
This was my audition for Detective Pikachu 2.
Just a thought I had, like what if your were raising a munchlax, sure its hungry half the time, but you ca manege, you keep it as a pet for a year, and then one day, it evolves.
You don't know into what, But you know it will be the same cute pokemon you had by your side for a year. Its this big blob like bundle of cuteness, and you go about your day like nothing has happened, its having issue fitting in the house but, still shouldn't be a problem.
Till it was time for bed, when you go to enter your room, There it is, Snorlax, you try to move it out of the way, but nothing works, it turns out, the snorlax crushed the living room, meaning you have to sleep on the floor, you do so, but then, the snorlax does the one thing you would never think of!
It... it! to be continued! (Yes i'm bored, could you tell?)
looks like pokemon's answer to the cookie monster?
You take the moon and you take the sun... wait a minute, wrong pointy-headed glutton.
Clearly he is not lacking in munchies.
Ummmm...strange commercial. Has literally nothing to do with the game though. I'm not even sure why it's classified as a commercial for Pokemon Legends at all...
I am liking all these Pokemon related videos Nintendo has been putting out though. Sort of feels like the 2000's again.
@Dingelhopper If you play the game, you see how the town starts to integrate pokemon with them and how quirky it can be. It is the story side and not the core gameplay side.
I say that what you see is what you get. You would not expect Pokémon to be in a cooking show... especially an adult-oriented one. Similarly, you would not expect all of the changes in Pokémon Legends Arceus.
Myself, I find this an interesting Unitedstatesation of Gordon Ramsy's programmes. Seeing t head chef act comically et still be serious a the Munchlax was the real surprise. Also, the Munchlax looked neat.
