At 'The Game Awards' earlier this month, we got our first proper trailer for Sonic's second movie outing featuring Knuckles, Tails, Dr. Robotnik, and of course the blue blur.
If that wasn't already enough to get you excited for the Sonic sequel when it arrives in cinemas next April, perhaps Paramount Picture's latest Matrix-inspired Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie commercial will help - encouraging fans to pick the "Red Quill or Blue Quill", aka Knuckles or Sonic.
It's all a timely marketing promotion that links up with the arrival of The Matrix Resurrections and sees the return of Keanu Reeves as Neo to discover what is real (again).
What are your thoughts about a promotion like this for Sonic's second movie outing? Are you team red quill or team blue quill? Comment down below.

@SuperZeldaFun yeah I've heard it's abysmal but in a "what on earth were they thinking" way
Sonic is just following his own rainbow now.
Whichever you take will probably do enough damage on the way down that you won't care that you're in the Matrix for long.
Keanu should stick with doing John Wick movies at this point. Bill/Ted and now Matrix got some pretty bad “revival” attempts
An advice to all who haven't watched Matrix Resurrection:
Don't watch it!
Instead of resurrecting it, they killed the franchise.
Spoiler:
Morpheus came out of the toilet stall and offered the red pill to Neo without even washing his hands, can you blamed Neo for rejecting it?
@SuperZeldaFun
Looks like I'll stick with that Matrix Awakens tech demo
@Arawn93 Well, if Keanu is looking for a new role to play, I have an idea for one: Shadow the Hedgehog. He seems right for the role of the Ultimate Life Form in a future Sonic movie.
The trailers for the new Matrix film look awful, but I will reserve judgement. Should have used Unreal Engine 5.
@NoTinderLife I enjoyed Speed Racer and Reloaded, but otherwise the Wachowskis peaked with The Matrix in 1999. This was never going to be good as it was clear in 2003 that the original was lightning in a bottle.
The original Matrix was a fun, Twilight Zone style short story that stood on its own. World building killed all the fun of it. It was the same thing with Pirates of the Caribbean.
Sometimes, leaving a good thing alone is actually okay.
@YoshiAngemon ok yes I would love that so much
@SuperZeldaFun
Just realized the movie is on HBO Max so I'll probably watch it.
But the online reaction in general hasn't been all that great.
As a fan of the original Matrix movies, it saddens me to how they massacred my boy.
Guess The Wachowski ran out of creative fuel and should have taken the red pill instead of the blue.
I thought the Matrix trailer looked cool...
And hyped for Sonic!
But then I love stuff like Hawk the Slayer (not because it's 'bad') so. Yeah.
Based and red quilled
Matrix Resurrections was atrocious.
Blue quilllllllllllll
