7-Eleven Japan has just announced that the collaboration between the convenience store and Pokémon GO — which saw over 19,000 Pokéstops added to the stores all over Japan — will end on Sunday, October 31st. All of the Pokéstops will be removed from the game by the early morning (Japan time) of November 1st.
The collab has existed since April 2017, and we have no information as to why it's ending four years later, but with the game winding down and Niantic removing features, it could just be a good time for 7-Eleven to dip.
Niantic is currently working on a new AR mobile game involving Pikmin, which a lucky few were able to preview earlier this year.

I know that here in Mexico is still going on, or at least it was still going on last time I played.
Nothing lasts forever...except Hideo Kojima's cutscenes.
Game winding down? What are you talking about? It made record sale figures last year and is played thoroughly in this year, with the best daily sale figures on Go Fest this July….?
Probably some kind of behind the scenes business politics getting in the way.
"The game winding down", ha. It's gotten more and more players, as well as new features. They recently started looking for a project manager that can take the PVP side to the next level (eSports).
Easy to spot the ones who have spent a pretty penny on pokeballs in these comments already.
@Pokester99 Probably not. Revenue wise it’s increasing. So ya it’s that it’s becoming to expensive.
@Pokester99 Go is still making tons of money, and this collab has been around for almost a year or something lol, guess it was too expensive to keep up
No more catch a Pokémon, pick up some onigiri and a yakisoba pan? (Ok I am hungry now).
The 'removed features' they're referring to is the extended distance for PokeStops they gave us for the pandemic. Hardly a sign that the end of go is nigh.
"but with the game winding down"
Since when?
