The situation with Switch Error Code 2123-1502 has somewhat improved over the past week, but Nintendo seems to still be busy behind the scenes.
Following on from a notice last week, it has now performed scheduled maintenance on its online services. This covers the Switch eShop and certain online game services.
"[Network maintenance information] We are currently performing maintenance on the Nintendo eShop. The end is scheduled around 15:30. Please note that it cannot be used during maintenance."
With any luck, it puts an end to those pesky error code issues which first showed up not long after the Switch system update 12.0.3 rolled out earlier this month.
If we hear anything else, we'll be sure to let you know. How's your Switch going now that this network maintenance has been performed? Tell us down in the comments.

That’s faster than Cyberpunk though!
After having some serious issues, I was able to purchase and download Alien: Isolation before the recent sale ended, so my problems are over. I still think Nintendo’s handling of the situation has been unacceptable, very frustrating. I hope everyone else is having success with their downloads now too.
I've been able to download again for almost a week but maybe now it's working for everyone. I thought fixing the problem would have required another firmware update but apparently not. I'll be alot more hesitant to download future updates from now on that's for sure.
Stability my butt!
Bought Wolfenstein II and The Sinking City this past sale but had been unable to download any since the error would appear every five minutes. Successfully downloaded The Sinking City with error appearing only twice. Downloading Wolfenstein II; so far so good.
@Zeldafan79 Download based problems usually are server-side problems. So you wouldn't need to update the client (the Switch in this case) to fix that
All sorted no drama.
Nice. Yesterday I finally got to try the mhs2 demo. I was very impressed by the artstyle and overall presentation. Im also looking for some relaxing turn based to compensate for the frantic Nier Automata and Persona Strikers combat Im currently playing so I might jump on mhs2 when it releases.
Yeah I was slightly taken aback last night. Super Mario Maker is part of my bedtime routine but I booted it up only to see that the servers were down for maintenance.
Having dealt with this a couple weeks ago, i am glad it is addressed. Thanks for the update NL!
I was one of the people affected, but truth be told, my only gripe was when I was updating Super Bomberman R Online it didn't want to, I insisted and managed to download it.
Afterwards I was able to download Part Time UFO and Puyo Puyo Champions from the E3 Sale without any problems.
Really is strange that it took so long. It must have been something real weird. I certainly experienced the bug and it was unlike any other I can remember.
I think is bad idea
Nintendo should have extended some of their sales due to these eShop/online issues.
Thought it was just my internet being weird yesterday as I total froze in a fortnite match for the first time and bought Guacamelee only for it to stop downloading over and over, just with no error code.
@AmplifyMJ They fixed it. How is it unacceptable?
@Donkey-Kong-Fan how long it went not addressed or acknowledged, as if it wasn’t a thing. Two Switch in my house, my son had multiple games he simply could not play, I got the update for DOOM Eternal… which wouldn’t update. I spent many frustrating hours between both Switch trying to complete downloads. I’m usually extremely forgiving of Nintendo, especially compared to some fans here, but in my opinion this situation, how it was handled, was unacceptable.
@Zeldafan79
Was the error actually firmware related? I got the error without upgrading my firmware, and the fix also did not require a new firmware download either, but was fixed server site.
My guess is, that it was more of a coincidence that this server bug at Nintendo happened at the same time of a new firmware rollout on the Switch.
