Another PlayStation hero is set to appear on Nintendo Switch (kind of), as Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist Aloy is confirmed for Fortnite.
The new character has been officially announced for the game by PlayStation today, following a datamine effort which leaked the reveal ahead of time. Aloy drops into Fortnite on 15th April alongside plenty of items that will be available to purchase.
Outcaster, seeker, and champion, Aloy enters the fray alongside familiar mementos of her Horizon Zero Dawn adventure. In addition to the Aloy Outfit, all these items will be available for purchase in the Item Shop starting April 15, 2021.
PlayStation's announcement details a new limited-time mode for the character called 'Team Up! Aloy & Lara', which will see Horizon's heroine joining forces with Tomb Raider's Lara Croft. Here, players will automatically be outfitted as either Aloy or Lara in a Duos setting, with their teammate playing as the other character. Weapons will be restricted to just the bow for Aloy and Dual Pistols for Lara, and it all kicks off on 16th April at 6am PT.
You might remember that God of War's lead character Kratos joined the game last year, surprisingly being available across all systems rather than as a PlayStation exclusive. It seems Aloy will now follow suit alongside an ever-growing cast of characters that includes Halo's Master Chief, The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, The Terminator, and countless others.
Are you excited to play as Aloy in Fortnite? Who else do you think should make the cut? Tell us below.

Ha, Link is looking down on Aloy chuckling right now
@FroZtedFlakerZz from the looks of things Alloy is looking down at Link.
She’s clearly looking up in both pictures. (/s)
Whoa...you never can tell what they'll do next. The cross overs are endless.
Remember when everyone said Samus was going to get in?
Honestly I really like what Fortnite are doing in regards to adding new characters- at this point anyone could get in!
Don’t you guys love going from fighting giant robot dinosaurs, to then shooting people up on an island just to say you won? Me to!
Add Captain Falcon Next!
He would be a better fit than link because he has a gun
Nobody can escape the power of Fortnite.
@RetroXombi And Zelda shakes her head about all this nonsense.
@Munchlax oh man you are right.🤪
I wish I still played Fortnite but after last season I think I'm done with the game for good but it's still a great game and I had a good and long run with it but every season gets less and less interesting than the last.
Xbox and PlayStation have the Fortnite collaborations.
Nintendo has the Smash collabs.
While I love playing Master Chief and soon Aloy on my Switch, you can’t beat the drama of a Smash reveal.
Come on Nintendo, put Samus in already
@Donnerkebab I agree completely. 2017 was such a great year for me specifically because of BotW and HZD. Two games in my top 10 all time favourites.
You can’t go wrong with a donner kebab either to be fair.
@Entrr_username It's too bad Nintendo is a lot more stingy with its characters, although I'm not sure how they would address the weapon design. Like, would Samus (or Mega Man for that matter) just carry guns or would her arm cannon be able to use different types of ammo? How would she use melee weapons and fishing rods? With her left hand? Is she ambidextrous? I guess they could just have her wear her "zero" suit (which I'm pretty sure she wears under her battle suit anyway) and use both of her hands like everyone else. 🤔
@BizarreJelly28980 last season was the last battle pass I will most likely buy for a while but I still play it now and again. They are just getting a little out of control with having to get to level 150 for everything. But I am over the grinding battle pass levels.
@RetroXombi Dope
