2021 is the fifth anniversary of Pokémon GO, which means it's been five years since the craze made a bunch of us go out and get exercise by accident. The game continues to reach new heights, although they recently drew some ire for taking away their stay-at-home safety additions despite the pandemic not being over yet.
The latest addition to Pokémon GO is actually an addition to the Pokémon Trading Card Game - the former's Professor Willow is getting his own card to celebrate the big anniversary.
The card will come to the TCG worldwide this summer, with the art and content of the card being revealed in May. Stay tuned for more details!

Professors Willow, Sycamore and Kukui need to fight to the death to determine the hunkiest professor. Now that’s a tough question.
kewl beans pokemon
@nessisonett Kukui would destroy them, he's literally a famous wrestler
Eh... my guess is it's just going to be a Professor’s Research reprint with Willow on it, we already have two different versions of the card already (one features Magnolia and the other features Juniper). The only thing I could see TPCi doing that’s technically out-of-the-ordinary is giving it the Full-Art card treatment.
...five...years...?
Geez
Honestly surprised it took this long honestly.
@ZebZed It's better than a new card with the same effect but a different name. I'm glad they've started doing what they've been doing with Professor's Research and Boss's Orders. Though I'm still salty that they ruled that the older Professor Juniper and Sycamore don't "count" as Professor's Research when they are blatantly the same card.
That's kinda neat, but hardly something to be in suspense over. It would be cool to see Sugimori's take on the character.
I, too, enjoy Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy.
@redpanda0310 My neice has started to play Pokemon Go, using an old android with no phone service.
She is 4 and a half.
I have pokemon that I caught in that game from before she was born, that I can now trade to her.
This really warps my brain's passage of time in ways I'm not comfortable with.
@Desrever How do you play Pokemon Go with no phone service???
@redpanda0310 By having one of her parents tether the wifi to a Hotspot connection from their phones, you can run it that way. You can also go into Google Maps and download local maps to your phone that can be used offline, which can help keep you from standing on an endless green field if the connection drops
@Desrever ah ok hmm
