Since its confirmation last Summer, plenty have been looking forward to Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster; in particular the challenge of saying its full name quickly three times. It's a classic of the genre that's also getting very welcome enhancements and quality of life improvements.
Today Atlus has released a new trailer titled "The World's Rebirth", and it's rather neat.
It's available for pre-order now on the eShop and through retailers, with the most impatient being tempted by the Digital Deluxe Edition that lets players jump in four days earlier.
If you defy that sneaky product design you only need to wait until 25th May, so it's not long now.

It's bit of a silly name though, how do you even pronounce iii?
This is a joke before anyone else ats me.
Is this getting a physical release in Europe ?
@jump Threeeeeeee. I don't actually know how the Latin numeral is suppposed to go. Tri?
Lmao they only showed cutscenes and the FMVs because even they know the game runs like ass on Switch
@Hobbesyall "Megami Tensei" and "Europe" usually equals "an extra year of waiting". I am hella glad we are getting the digital release at the same time as everyone else.
@Hobbesyall Yeah. All regions are getting a physical version on Switch/PS4
Oh, this was that trailer they uploaded for the Steam version and then decided to take down for some reason. Saw this more than a week ago.
@jump III is three. So, uh, you pronounce it like "three."
@Hobbesyall Yeah, the usual supects have pre-orders up already. Base has it the cheapest at £36.85.
If only this will perform well enough to make a Digital Devil Saga Duology release viable!
As somebody who never played any of those games, this looks really trippy. I look forward to it.
@jump that’s the sound you maken when you see a demon.
@Friendly Maken...X?
@TheFrenchiestFry This is what Atlus often does with their story based games. They show FMV trailer first then gameplay trailer later. Also why would you think Switch couldn't handle it? It's a freaking PS2 game of course Switch will run it just fine. With this game on Switch, the entire Shin Megami Tensei main series are now on Nintendo's platforms with Shin Megami Tensei 1, 2, and If for Super NES, Shin Megami Tensei 3 for Switch, Shin Megami Tensei 4 and 4 Apocalypse for 3DS, and Shin Megami Tensei 5 for Switch.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi The Remaster is already out in Japan and it got heavily scrutinized for the fact that on both platforms, especially Switch the framerate was incredibly inconsistent and the biggest perpetrator of drops was the Fiend fights where the performance tanks
It got subsequent patches but the performance is still only mediocre on PS4 and worse on Switch overall
Also Atlus does show a lot of cutscenes in their story trailers but their recent games like Persona 5, Catherine Full Body and even SMT IV all had way more gameplay in their story trailers compared to this one
@TheFrenchiestFry pretty sure physical version won't be available in Europe at launch as even if you go to their website they provide links in the States but in Europe just say wait for confirmation...
@Balta666 I am on the European Amazon storefront page for the game and there are physical versions planned for launch on both platforms
Only digital-only release will be the PC version
Some of the SMT game titles are so ridiculously long, it's awesome! As for the game running on Switch I'll say this: I've played soooooo many Atlus games and SMT games in particular and I have NEVER, not once, had an issue with performance so they get the benefit of the doubt absolutely from me. Also they've had 6 months since Japanese launch to touch this up so ya, I pre ordered immediately. I will literally buy every single SMT game Atlus releases.
YES CANNOT WAIT
If the Japanese release had technical issues, I hope they've fixed those since. I'm really looking forward to this.
@TheFrenchiestFry not sure what do you mean by european Amazon as as far as I know there is only Amazon store for each country and I searched on UK, Spain and France and couldn't find in any of them.
@Balta666 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Nocturne-Remaster/dp/B08ZBZQ1Q6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3JGH2MGR1G8WC&dchild=1&keywords=shin+megami+tensei&qid=1617206899&sprefix=shin+Megami+te%2Caps%2C191&sr=8-1
@Saizo that is the PlayStation version the one I could not find is the switch one
@Balta666 you can just click to choose version of the game, but I see Switch version is sold out on amazon.uk
@Saizo ohh did not notice that. Thanks.
So, uh... is this a real Shin Megami Tensei game?
So this is that Persona Spin-off right?
@Dethmunk It's a PS2 game.
@Dethmunk yeah what do u expect.
It’s a PS2 game. Ofc it wouldn’t look that great.
It’s not like SMT 5 where it looks amazing
@TheFrenchiestFry let us hope we get the patched version
Can't wait for this. Always wanted to play this since getting into(and being hooked) with the series ever since SMT IV.
Hahaha why did i laugh because of the extremely long title.
Calling a webshop i want this game, uhm can you say that again... Uhh sir can u please spell the title again?
Third time "please try again tomorow"
I am just hoping that another patch is released to make the frame rate stable on the switch before the western release. If not then I will wait and see how the PC version is like on launch day from other players.
Dragon Quest 11 Echoes of an Elusive Age: Definitive Edition is still a longer name
@jcboyer515 He's referring to the "play a real SMT game" meme since hardcore SMT fans say that Persona doesn't count as a real SMT game.
@jcboyer515 They've patched some stuff (and also added selectable skills for fusion) but I'm not sure if they fixed all the issues regarding the game's performance. From what I've heard, the game still has frame drops and the OST is still compressed (unless they fixed all of that idk).
