If the original Alien (or any one of its increasingly weird-bad sequels) made you hide behind the sofa in fear, or the creepy hide-and-seek game Alien: Isolation put you in genuine danger of having to change your trousers, then it's time to get your revenge.
The Xenomorph - a villain so terrifying that most of the films focus on merely the threat of seeing it - is getting added to Fortnite, alongside Alien heroine Ripley, so you can finally humiliate the big nasty alien by making it floss. Imagine trying to explain that to someone from 1979.
So, the Xenomorph returning might be bad news - especially for Ellen Ripley - but good news is that Jonesy the cat survived, and he'll be included in the game as part of the Weyland-Yutani Cat Carrier. Ripley also has a clothing variant option: the Nostromo Crew outfit, which gives her long hair, plus a kind of horrible chest-burster emote that has the Fortnite llama erupting from Ripley's ribcage. No thanks.
The Xenomorph comes equipped with the Xenomorph Tail Back Bling and the "Xeno Menace" emote. Players can also grab the Space Gear Bundle, which includes the P-500 Power Loader Arm Pickaxe, the Cheyenne Dropship Glider, and the "Burst Case Scenario" emote.
Fortnite's Twitter account teased the additions earlier this week with an "incoming transmission" from Jonesy (not the cat), in which he mentions 1986 - the year Aliens came out - as well as the fact that he's got "some kind of heartburn". We all know what that means. RIP Jonesy.
It might be worth spending the V-Bucks that you'll get as a result of the class action lawsuit against Epic and the in-game loot boxes, if you didn't already earmark them for Ryu and Chun-Li, who were announced last week, or the characters from Tron, who were announced the week before. Looks like Epic are focusing their fire on retro culture - which makes us wonder how many of the game's players, who tend to skew younger, will appreciate the additions.
It would seem like some players are far more keen for Epic to reveal the rumoured Family Guy pack, after dataminers revealed footage from the cartoon show late last week.
Will you be maining Xenomorph from now on, or are you more interested in Jonesy the Cat? Give us your takes on this new addition in the comments below.

I can't wait for the voice chat to be filled with children screaming because an alien burst out of their characters' chests.
@ObeseChihuahua2 It's a pinata and not even gory...
@Noid Wait, it's just a pinata? Aw man, that's so disappointing.
Seems like epic has a huge deal with disney. Marvel, star wars, wreck it ralph, predator, alien and soon family guy. All disney properties.
This game is a walking advertisement at this point.
I'm still waiting for the day Captain Crunch joins Fortnite.
Why would they use the year Aliens came out and not the year Alien came out?
And the crowd went mild
@darkswabber Disney is a HUGE partner to them. All starting with the Wreck it Ralph 2 promotion, then its just series after series getting into the game.
@idrawrobots Because the characters are from Alien 2's era. Sure it all starts with one, but the trailer shows they were taken during Alien 2

🌎🧑🚀🔫👨🚀 Always has been
My boy xenomorph is not holding a gun No NOOOOOO.
@patbacknitro18 Yup! And I really debated putting "Aliens" in the title instead of "Alien", since it's more technically correct, but I pictured a bunch of people correcting me in the comments regardless and decided against it 😅
who even plays this game anymore. thought it went the route of fall guys and among us
@patbacknitro18 yeah. And I didn’t even list all disney crossovers. Forgot about tron and terminator.
@blindsquarel I do. For a free to play game it offers a fair amount of entertainment and micro transactions are all cosmetic so you are never left out of gameplay content. It get hate but it’s whatever cause I have fun.
Make the Xenomorph default dance please
I just want to know how they managed to get so many different IPs to agree to this kind of thing. Fortnite has become the Funko Pop figures of video games.
And I don't mean that in a good way. I hate Funko Pops. But like those hideous figures, I have to admire the company behind the scenes because they manage to make licensing deals I'd have never thought possible.
Can't deny that they have a hell of a good marketing scene going on. My cousin's kid is hooked like a heroin addict to this game.
@Thwomp_Stomper
good that you have fun i just had not heard about it as much these days because it is considered dead by the internet. but glad you have fun with it.
@Heavyarms55 Isn't a lot of the IP's they're putting in Fortnite owned by Disney now? That could explain how they're getting so many, so fast. While this Fortnite stuff doesn't bother me, I gotta say, Fortnite Ripley looks about as much like Sigorney Weaver as a Funko Pop. I never understood the appeal of that awful plastic trash.
@blindsquarel The internet is always claiming that after a few months of being hyped by something. Nowhere to be true in most cases and Fortnite isn't the exception. I've heard "Warframe is dying" since 2015 and well, here we are with the game being quite alive. DC Online just died last year, and the game was much less popular than these.
Get away from her, you b**** !!
@TheFox There are things Disney doesn't own?
Honestly I haven't put that much effort into researching it. That might explain it.
With the stuff between Apple and Epic, people still support them?
@FluffiestP1llow Everyone else knows boycotts don't work.
Won't be long before Epic Games just digitally scans every single human on the planet and adds them all into Fortnite.
Stop your grinin’ and drop your linen
'Alien or any one of its weird-bad sequels' so Aliens was weird to bad?
@Onion I want the Toxic Avenger - with the mop as harvest tool
and the Hamburglar
@patbacknitro18 I don’t remember a “nice crew” in Aliens. That’s why I’m confused.
