Daemon X Machina has been out for more than a year on the Nintendo Switch now and it's still receiving substantial updates.
The latest one adds cross-save functionality allowing players to transfer their saves between the Nintendo Switch and Steam version of the game.
This latest update follows on from the anniversary update last month which added new arsenal designs, new plugsuits, a new mission and more. You can find out more about the anniversary update in our previous post.
Can you see yourself making use of this new feature? Have you even played Daemon X Machina on the Switch? Share your thoughts below.

There's a steam version of that game?
@Deltarogue I just asked myself the same question.
I'll settle for this, but would've been better for cross-play.
All multiplatform games should have this. PC+Switch is a killer combo
This is great until you realize this game has multiplayer and people on PC can cheat the save and then move it to the switch. Luckily their isn't that varied of a PvP mode so it won't hurt that bad.
Totally forgot this game existed.
This is certanly a great mech game, really enjoyed it in switch. Hope it makes good enough for a profitable franchise and not just one game.
I played a bit of this on Steam (when I found a cheap digital copy) it ran fine, aside from a random crash that I think was on my end anyway. I'm happy cross save is a thing now. Especially since my Switch copy is arriving in a few days from now, so no need to restart!
There's a what version of what?
Got this game on sale, but haven't really started it yet. Seems fun, but flawed. Great that it's still getting support.
Oh yeah, that game from E3 2018 that everyone looked at, said cool, and barely thought about it afterwards, if at all.
I really think this game looks amazing, but when I played the demo at the time it came out, I was bummed out on the performance... Mostly just the framerate.
If the framerate was fixed during this time, I really need to get it.
Artist is the same from Fire Emblem: Awakening, and I am a Gunpla head, so this looks like a perfect fit... if only the framerate was consistent, or maybe even above 30.
Anyone playing this on the Switch these days? How much has improved since launch?
At the first glance this game looks really cool until you notice how simple the environment and enemies look.
Does it have PvP?
If only Panic button had added cross save to Doom eternal, it might sway ppl who bought it on PC months ago.
@Deltarogue Yeah, came out in February 2020. 3rd party Switch exclusives generally come to PC around 6-12 months later.
@Scrubicius It does indeed but you need to join thesubreddit discord to get a better chance at matches
@Grumblevolcano unless it's a Nintendo IP made by a 3rd party dev (eg Age of Calamity)
Oooo very good work. Perhaps I should get back into it.
This is a very meh game
It's my favorite action game on switch.
Not a top tier Switch exclusive, but still a solid game with a beefy amount of content. Definitely worth a look, especially if you're needing some sci-fi action on Switch (of which only Astral Chain & arguably the Xenoblade games are the only other exclusive offerings on that front).
@apoqalypse, which demo are you referring to? The "Prototype Missions" one that came out earlier in the release year (this one was more for player feedback, and the full game improved on it quite a bit), or the one that came out on release with the improvements?
@HotGoomba___Rebrand, they released it at a bad time too. They squished it in-between Astral Chain (admittedly the better sci-fi action title), Link's Awakening remake, & Dragon Quest XI S (all of which had more hype). It probably would have been better served to release it early this year since there wasn't much else going on.
@RCGamer Ubisoft is starting to head the way with this, when they released Immortals: Fenyx Rising they introduced a cross save system via Ubisoft Connect and it is pretty nifty.
@Jokerwolf yeah, I know. For me it's a criteria to buy or not a third-party game on switch. If I like the game, I'll buy on switch only if it's exclusive or PC's cross save. TW3 have this feature and for me it's a game changer. Ubi is going even further because it's not only Switch-PC, it's every platform that the game comes
@RR529 I think it was the first one fr the player feedback. It got better? I'll check out the eshop demo then!
@HotGoomba___Rebrand
I feel like people did the same thing with Ninjala. (Except there was more hype for Ninjala at first, then there was for Daemon X Machina).
@apoqalypse, here's a YouTube video posted of all the improvements made due to the feedback (it doesn't mention framerate, but from experience I don't think any of the boss fights were as choppy as the one in the demo).

@RR529 Yah looks pretty bad on boss fights... 25fps. Anything below 30 is unplayable to me... I'll probably snag it in steam. Pitty since I was hyped for it on the Switch 🤷♂️
I bought this game and my first impression was actually quite good. But I lost interest pretty quickly. Then I hit an obnoxious boss I couldn't beat. Instead of feeling frustrated, I realized I just didn't care. I sold it shortly thereafter.
@apoqalypse I have no framerate issues at all playing the game. The only framerate issues I have is during loading the game which is not an issue at all.
@apoqalypse
The real game begin at the last mission of the demo. When fighting other mech.
It's a great game, it give what you want (action) and only this, great pace, and when you control well, you move like a dragon ball anime.
And colours/aesthetic, beautiful.
Sry for my english.
@TheDavyStar why would one need to be on that Discord server?
@Scrubicius It can be hard to get a match normally due to the small playerbase so it's easier to hit up the discord and participate in their PvP tournaments
Was thinking of taking this back up on PC, but didn't really want to go through the early grind again. This is wonderful news. Say what you want about Marvelous Corporate's handling of the initial launch, but the devs themselves have been fantastic.
I bought this game as a physical copy and completely forgot about it as I played through Astral Chain and Fire Emblem Three Houses. I wonder if it's gotten better since the demo, or will I be better off playing Cyberpunk 2077 on my Laptop?
It needs a steep discount not cross-save.
