It has been confirmed that Mechanical Head Studios' retro-style ninja title Cyber Shadow is launching on Nintendo Switch on January 26th, 2021.
The title – which is being published by Shovel Knight studio Yacht Club Games – is also coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
However, Switch owners will benefit from exclusive amiibo support, which allows players to use Shovel Knight amiibo to unlock bonus features in-game.
Cyber Shadow – which takes more than a little inspiration from the Ninja Gaiden and Shinobi franchises – had been due for release in fall of this year, but was delayed to "add more polish".

Easily the most appealing title of the Indie World, though I'm not too good at uber difficult games, so we'll see.
It does look good but it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against The Messenger given they’re both rather similar to Ninja Gaiden/Strider.
I tried the messager and that game for me tries to be too many things. This should have been cyber shadow dropped today instead of Among us. Also, Scott Pilgrim comes out a week before...Stupid games getting pushed back until next year. Stoopid covid.
@nessisonett Much as I like The Messenger, I felt that the exploration dragged it down. I'm hoping for a more straightforward action experience ala Ninja Gaiden and Shadow of the Ninja this time around...and for a physical release, naturally.
Now this was the standout of the presentation for me. Looks like an easy buy.
Love the pixel art, and it sounds like it's a linear action game instead of a Metroidvania-style experience, which, if true, is a huge plus.
I still need to beat the Shovel Knight DLC campaigns... hopefully this game isn't any harder.
I should also beat The Messenger before this...
My game to get from this presentation .
Ah, another cool game I'll get and play someday despite full awareness that I will most likely NOT handle anything past the first few stages therein.😅
THIS was really the only game out of the whole presentation which caught my eye.
@Mach_Rider I didn’t get to the Metroidvania part of The Messenger and only got spoiled yesterday that it turned into a game like that 😅
Only thing I was interested in. Good to see it finally getting a release date. Hope I enjoy it as much as the Messenger.
This was the game that stood out most to me until that very last surprise about Among Us! Probably just the two for me.
I've had my eye on this since it was first announced. Hopefully we'll get a physical version too.
@N8tiveT3ch ...they're two completely different games from completely different developers in completely different states of completion (one is complete, the other is not).
I mean let's not have two games titled "Cyber" something out this month release completely unfinished.
@Ogbert ok...I thought it was funny.
This saved the show for me. Everything else was rather meh, unfortunately. But im beyond hyped for this.
Ever since I saw the trailer for this game, I knew I had to have it. That music alone got my heart pumping and my mind swirling with delight. Can’t wait!
This was the best game shown in my opinion. Reminded me of the Messenger, which overall was a very good game. Looking forward to this release.
Looks very promising, keeping my eyes on this will more than likely be a day one purchase.👀
Looks awesome. The amiibo functionality is a nice addition.
Is this available to pre-purchase on the eShop right now? If so, how much is it?
Finally. Glad this one baked long enough in the oven, I feel it will be worth the wait.
Yes! Feel like I've been waiting for a long time.
Switch is an awesome system for Ninja games.
Looking forward to this and the Messenger prequel
So not actually developed be Yacht Club, eh? Well, it still looks like a must-buy.
Can't wait for this, at least it won't be a buggy mess like that piece of garbage that was Cyberpunk 2077, a game which couldn't even perform on a base PS4.
@Retro_Player_77 to be fair- it’s absolutely fantastic on PS5.
@0blivion I play it on the base PS5 as my PS4 was already dead and gone 3 years ago, it's less terrible but some of the bugs and glitches are still there.
@Retro_Player_77 just wait for the patches and it’ll be fine and dandy. I remember the Witcher III had its fair share of bugs and glitches but they were eventually patched and it’s one of the best games in recent memory. Give it time.
So, basically, everything is coming out in January 2021.
