Update [Fri 13th Nov, 2020 11:40 GMT]: According to Serebii, players at Level 24 and above can now transfer Pokémon from GO to HOME.
Original Article [Wed 11th Nov, 2020 01:30 GMT]: Good news trainers (well, kind of), Pokémon HOME is finally able to be connected with Niantic's augmented-reality smartphone game Pokémon GO. This means you can now transfer pocket monsters from GO to your Pokémon games on the Switch.
The catch, according to Serebii.net, is that it's currently limited to Level 40 GO trainers. To transfer a pocket monster, you'll have to link GO to your Nintendo account under the settings option and then access HOME Transporter in order to send Pokémon across.
Every time you transfer a Pokémon Transporter Energy is used, which recovers over time. You can read more about this in our previous post. Apparently, a Shiny Legendary will use up all the energy. If you do transfer a monster, you'll receive a one-time Mystery Gift for a special Level 100 Melmetal which is capable of Gigantamaxing.
There are no details about when this feature will become available to lower level GO trainers just yet, but if we hear anything, we'll be sure to let you know. Are you able to make use of this transfer feature between Pokémon HOME and Pokémon GO yet? Tell us down below.

hopefully it’ll be released for lower level trainers soon
People not happy bout this
Already sent 5 shinys into Home. I actually am totally cool with the timer and stuff. The only thing I dislike is that, unless I am missing something, the only way to get to the transfer menu is to go into settings first. It took me like 10 minutes to find it because I would not have thought of that. There was no notification, no update, nothing. I saw AustinJohnPlays post about it, and then checked it, and it was there.
Do not believe the people saying it costs money. It does NOT. You can use coins to send more Pokemon faster, but even those coins can be earned in game. And even then, you don't need the coins. You just wait a week and you can send more.
Level 36, which is not bad for someone who started back in April.
Guess I'll get there on my year anniversary. XD
of course it's initially level-locked for lvl 40 players only lol, why wouldnt it be?
@Heavyarms55 have you seen the reports os people saying it'd take them YEARS to transfer all of their shinies? This system is not good at all. A single shiny legendary consumes all of your points.
So... can anyone report about the special Go Forms if they can be transferred?
This isn't very disability inclusive. By doing this Pokemon effectively limits people that have trouble with walking.
@Tulio517 Well first world problems. If people have THAT many shinys then surely they are already paying lots of money into PoGo in actual money, or time.
Time to learn to prioritize.
It's always annoying when they level lock additions to Pokemon GO. I'm on 34 after four years. I stopped playing because of the pandemic, but I don't even want to play it anymore. I just want my Pokemon. 😭
@Heavyarms55 It's very easy to find shinies in GO when you do the community events and field research. You don't even have to spend money on the game.
@eaglebob345 Same boat. Only lvl 30 and haven't played in a year and have zero desire to play anytime soon. Just let me dump the pokemon into home already!
laaaaaaaame
By the time it is available to lower level trainers I will probably hit 40 anyway. Both in game and reality ;P
@newrulesjules thanks
Gigantimax Melmetal! 🤩
Now which shinys to transfer first. 🤔
@Heavyarms55 like some people pointed out, it's really easy to farm shinies in GO. I, for one, only really ever put money on the game to change teams and have a bunch of shinies, some of them legendary. It'd take a good while to transfer them all, even if it was just one of each species. It is an issue. Look, I'm not one to overly criticize this kind of thing. And as we know very well, the Pokémon community has a tendency to go overboard. But this is really not good, check Joe Merrick's recent tweets, he makes a better case.
I would have much preferred they test this out a different way. When i heard about this earlier in the year i reinstalled Go, was not able to log into my original account, but somehow my alternate hadn't been deleted (even though i had barely used it and my trainer level was still 1).
With very limited ability to go anywhere and therefore play the game, even if they lowered the level requirement to 20, i don't see myself hitting that by the end of december. It's just too difficult/monotonous to make any progress when you can't actually go much of anywhere.
Just when you think Nintendo have learnt their lesson regards pissing off their loyal fans 🙄
@Heavyarms55 You are the biggest ***** Nintendo bootlicker I've ever met. How does the corporate boot taste?
***** *****.
@Thoughts Exactly the same lol
@NotGonnaUseThisAgain Hear hear mate. Very well said
@Tulio517 But you´ve got to think, they have 100´s of them. The charge time is fine although a bit expensive and the wait may be a bit long.
@newrulesjules Aww man. Wish I could transfer one of those 20 special Pikachu i have.
@colmtheperson It isn´t fully nintendo, and the system does some things right.
@ComposedbyNone I've been playing the game daily (for some reason) since it launched. Mainly just collecting dailies rewards and items/gifts. I'm at level 36 (nearly 37) and have been for the last year. There is some serious grind work needed to advance beyond that. I've maxed out all of my bags and carrying capacity without spending a dime in game as well have money to spare. So reaching level 40 is no easy feat. Bad call on not making it available to all or at least lowering the level to something more attainable like 20-30.
Why did Nintendo send me an email telling me I could use this feature and then not allow me to use this feature because I'm not level 40?
To all the people complaining about needing to be level 40 to transfer your mons, this is normal for Pokémon Go. Whenever a new feature goes live they always start with level 40 trainers then roll it out to lower level ones bit by bit (sometimes in as little as a few hours, days at most). Just gotta be patient, you'll get your time to shine-y 😉✨
That's a lot grinding for me.
Darn...guess I won’t be accessing this feature for a while. I’m at level 22 and don’t ever do raids or gym battles. Not even sure if there is another way to reach level 33. I guess the good news (for me) is I don’t have any desirable Pokemon in Go that I don’t already have in Sword/Let’s Go. 🤷🏻♂️
@HarvestGoddess I have access to a poke stop, and multiple Pokémon show up, within access to me without leaving my house.
It’s random where you live I guess.
@HarvestGoddess You don't have to leave the house to collect Pokemons in Pokemon Go.
@Heavyarms55 why are you lying by omission. You leave out the limit of how many coins a day you can earn. It costs 1000 coins. Thats 20 days worth of coins. 20 DAYS. Sorry but thats still clearly trying to railroad people to bloody pay up.
I don't know why they bothered. You can't transfer over a Pokémon to Sword unless you have caught it previously in that game. The whole point of this system was to fill in gaps in the Pokédex or transfer over a rare Pokémon like Celebi.
Thankfully there are enough people on the GTS looking for certain Pokémon that you can game the trade system.
I transferred over a Ho-Oh, Regirock, Groudon and Kyogre from Go which I couldnt use in Sword. I then spent the next half an hour trading around until I had a Level 20 Lugia, a Mewtwo, a Mesprit and a Solgaleo I could actually use.
Just transferred over the middling Pokémon I've been wanting to fill my Home Pokedex and got my Melmetal 😀
@Thoughts It's really not that easy. I'm Level 22 and I don't have anything better than what I have in Shield, and I haven't even finished the game yet.
@RadioHedgeFund Weird that it would work this way when you could easily transfer Pokémon from Home that you didn’t have in dex. I have transferred over two right after the second DLC dropped and I haven’t even glanced at the new region yet.
It's available to everyone now
