Despite our best efforts to lighten the mood with far too many Mario Kart cat articles, life's pretty tough for a lot of us right now, so this new video from Nintendo might just be exactly what the doctor ordered.
The Big N has given the Xenoblade Chronicles series a slightly random but much-appreciated bit of attention, sharing a seven-minute video of the beautiful sights and sounds found within Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The game released almost five months ago now, so it's nice to head back and relive these gorgeous tunes once more.
Xenoblade is one of those strange franchises that has such a strong, passionate fan base, yet somehow still feels slightly overlooked. Having said that, the recent definitive edition release on Switch did manage to sell 1.32 million copies in just over a month when it first hit the market, and we're sure that number has been steadily rising ever since.
Anyway, that's enough waffling, feel free to sit back and enjoy those relaxing harmonies while reminiscing over the game in the comments below.

Very nice indeed
It's funny knowing exactly where each of these locations is. The game really sticks with you.
I guess the game doesn't want me to forget it...wait...don't...forget...me...
YER DON!
That was a very pleasant experience.
Now one with Xenoblade X in Noctilum, that'd be pretty chill as well.
Nintendo should do something with the lofi hip-hop radio guy.
One of the best OST ever. And it's not just 4 or 5 musics that are awesome. All musics of this game are.
@DrLockdown Think you can take me?
MAN FORGET NEW GAMES, WE NEED more relaxing music from games.
This is gonna be a Halloween screamer isn’t it?
Who also just started crying when they started watching the video? I hope I'm not alone!
I still need to finish this once and for all. Those pesky other games keep pulling me away. At this point It'll have to go on my bucket list.
I only just played this game a few months ago, but I've listened to the soundtrack for years. Many of the pieces are amazing, and I daresay some of the remastered songs are better than the originals!
@Lugazz PUPSQUEEK! BEHAVE!
I'm gonna be totally honest with people xenoblade 2 ain't that great of a game it's a good game the first title is far superior.
Ahhh... that was relaxing.
I too love the soundtrack to this game.
I never finished it on the Wii, purchased for the Switch but it's still on the backlog! This is a nice reminder that there is a real treat waiting for me. Hopefully this winter if I can just stop learning about great new games I want to play.
Xenoblade Chronicles is my favorite game of all time. Followed closely by Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
The music in both titles is a big contributing factor to my love of the titles. I have both sound tracks on CD and saved on my phone.
1+ million copies is a good number, but I still think it should have sold more
RIKKI DO GOOOOOOOOD!!!
Riki do nothing wrong this time
I just started my quest last week! Loving it so far. Tho keep getting sidetracked with all the side missions...
My favorite game of all time . Playing it for a third time, this time trying to finish all the side quest .
Brilliant piece of work, smacks of that ingenuity you tend not to see from European RPGs
I always loved xenoblade so the fact that Nintendo did this is amazing!
Such a great beautiful game. Was more impressive on original Wii release imo. At the time many dismissed the underpowered wonder console was capable of competing with large impressive games and Xenoblade was the ultimate counter. Will forever remain one of my favorite games.
Very nice. Love the music of this game. Love this game in general tbh
I wish you could do something like this in-game because I'd gladly fall asleep to it on the train and miss my station every day.
They should have done this with Xenoblade 2 as well.
Decent game, shame the Switch version is so over priced though otherwise I'd have gotten it. Already have the game on the Wii and the 3DS.
Great music too.
Nintendo is continuing to shine a spotlight on this game. I hope this means they are working on 3 or a port of X.
@Razer I mean, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I very respectfully disagree. The game has been reworked from the ground up, the music has been rearranged and/or re-recorded, all the character models are brand new and much more expressive, the quest tracking system has been completely overhauled into something much more user-friendly and modern, and the best part is it's now able to be played both portable (which is an accomplishment for such an involved and massive game) and on your glorious huge HDTV in your living room. Also, there's a brand new epilogue story with a previously cut area and the relevant original voice cast returning. It is absolutely worth the price. If anything, the 3DS version is overpriced in comparison. Again, to each their own, and you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. Statements like "this game is overpriced" are inherently subjective, so each person will determine what qualifies as a good and acceptable price to then, but as this is tied for my favorite game of all time with XCX and BotW, I happily pre-ordered the Definitive Works set as soon as I was able, and 2 playthroughs later (one with NG+) and working my way through the epilogue, I regret nothing.
Peace man, and happy gaming!
@Debo626 I don't agree, they didn't add enough to the game for me to want to spend more money on it again.
At the end of the day, it's the exact same game I've played twice before with minor improvements and a couple of bells and whistles.
I also remember reading this isn't a remaster at all, it's an upscaled port of the original Wii game.
It even basically says as much on the Wiki, it's got revamped graphics and art style but overall it's not that different from the original Wii game.
I mean look if you think it's worth the price, then by all means, knock yourself out, but why would I pay full price for this game and expect old EA ports to cost less than they do?
If these guys can release a 10 year old game for the 3rd time at full retail cost, then surely EA can do the same right? I personally think both are in the wrong and I don't buy this rubbish that this game is "remade from the ground up" like some people are trying to convince themselves.
