A new commercial for Paper Mario: The Origami King has popped up on YouTube, and you can check it out for yourself above.
Called 'Join the Adventure', the 30-second advert shows off plenty of the locations you'll be exploring in the game and also teases us with quick looks at some of the battles you'll be taking part in - did you spot that origami-dragon-boss-thing? Wowzers.
The video above is currently unlisted on YouTube - so don't worry if you missed it in your subscription feed, you're not going mad - but a second commercial was also uploaded publicly recently. Just in case you haven't seen that one, here it is:
Make sure to stay tuned for our full review; the very first review score has already been published by Japanese publication, Famitsu, and we'll have our full verdict up on the site soon.

The Paper Princess Peach was literally a "Beach".
She captured all over Mushroom Kingdom citizens.
This looks really good so i hope it's better than the most recent games in the series
The adventure 'unfolds' does it? :3

I had to take a look at the cover image again... I thought it was a Paper Mario Christmas ornament at first glance. Anyway, I am excited for this.
The dislike for this game reminds me of the last of us 2. Disappointed people before they even got a chance to play it.
@Magonigal so there are no points after battle for leveling up anything... color splash at least had the hammer scraps to upgrade your paint. This is really disappointing.
Honestly color splash and probably this one fix some things that I don't like about TTYD. Battling was kind of pointless, but that didn't really bother me that much. Gameplay just feels a little tighter, and the art direction is way more cohesive and interesting. Basic rpg elements kinda just get in the way of what i like about these games, so maybe i represent the broader audience they are shooting for with this series.
After watching some early reaction videos, I am going to pass on this game. Battles are once again something to be avoided as they offer nothing in terms of reward or progress. Put a fork in this series, its done.
I'm sorry, I'm still not feeling the Paper Mario vibe I grew up with.
@Snesionetty We have played Sticker Star and Color Splash, this looks like it will be the same thing. No experience, no leveling up and very little reason to battle.
@Crono1973 my mistake, just read the preview on Gamesbeat.
I am definitely going to pass on this game now. Despite all the charm, Tanabe insists on pointless combat and hating RPG elements.
For fukks sake.
@Snesionetty yeah, and fans for the last of us 2 had an actual reason to hate the game.
The only thing we can hope for is that this game will bomb to send the clearest of messages to Nintendo's management.
Tanabe is being obtuse on purpose and hell bent on spreading his hate for anything RPG in the mario universe.

Here is a decent take from the guys from IGN
@Magonigal Thank you, dude. Just waiting the day to play now. I pre purchased.
Well based on what I’ve seen, you buy upgrades with the coins you get from battling enemies. It’s not perfect but it is better than absolutely no reason to battle.
We'll see what happens when it's released. Some of the set-pieces look very neat. And the world looks fun to explore. Apparently, exploration is the game's strong suit.
As for the battle system, it seems fun in a puzzly sort of way. We'll see how it's integrated into the rest of the game.
Still, this is definitely a release I'll be patient on, in terms of waiting for reviews. I'm a half-Switch, half-PC person, and PC's getting Death Stranding and Halo 3 this month, and then Horizon Zero Dawn in August. I need to give my wallet a rest.
I'm still looking forward to it, especially since they've dropped the consumable battle moves, which was my main complaint in Sticker Star and Color Splash.
LOL at the reasons why people refuse to play a game. 😆
They really don’t say that much about the game so eh ok
@itslukec can Nintendo try something new for once? You have no idea how it plays, nor how the story works. Try and be a little more positive, okay? 😊
@Crockin
I want more RPG elements in Paper Mario. I think the beautiful and creative set pieces of Color Splash, mixed with TTYD battle system, would have made for a perfect game.
I'm glad I still have 64, TTYD and Super to go back and play, because Sticker, Color and this aren't my taste. Hopefully you and the broader audience can enjoy the future of Paper Mario; I feel like I've been let down but Nintendo (again)
There are many previews around already, and they all say something really big is coming. I´m getting hyped, and I never thought I´d say that about a Paper Mario anymore. This is exciting!
@RetiredR Your loss. I loved the humour in Color Splash, it was a really funny game, even though the gameplay wasn´t as brilliant as in others cases, unfortunately. If this improves the gameplay in every way, and keeps the characteristic sense of humour of the whole series, I´d be more than happy!
@RetiredR I mean that you'll probably ignore a brilliant game just because, for any reason, you don't accept such sense of humour (which was, imo, the best thing about Color Splash, and I also like the most the first ones in the series; that's why I don't understand it).
@Classic603 The rpg stuff is fine, but to me it felt kinda boring halfway through those first 3 games. Like I'd rather just skip it and explore the world and dialogue and stuff. To each their own though. my theory is that nintendo wants to differentiate paper mario from their dedicated RPG series, Mario and Luigi, especially with the switch. I'm 99% certain a mario and luigi game will come to switch, it's only a matter of....time!
@Snesionetty --The only thing we can hope for is that this game will bomb to send the clearest of messages to Nintendo's management.--
"Between this and Mario & Luigi bombing, no one really wanted a Mario RPG anyway. Just a loud, vocal minority as usual. Oh, well. Tell Intelligent Systems they can wash their hands of this and go back to raking in cash with Fire Emblem."

Why do i doubt about buying this?? Seriously i have no idea, i never doubt games from nintendo but this one is holding me back for some reason..?
I wait what other people say who play it.
@RPGamer
I absolutely love the games and have the Vita original, the PS4 remake and the second game on PS4. They're so original and fun and the characters are great which is why my icon is Kat!
@RPGamer
Would be perfect on Switch but unfortunately belongs to Sony and I hope we get a third game on PS5
@Magonigal
What I can't really understand in that video is a save block was placed very close to what the player is reasonably assumed to think will be a boss battle with the big goomba AND THEN THEY"RE BLOCKED FROM BEING ABLE TO USE IT. That player tries repeatedly to use it before giving up, I know that would be my reaction too.
@ALazyUsername128
Yeah, that annoyed me.a.bit that the game.kept saying NO, can't.do that. At least the big.Goomba was easy to beat
@RPGamer
Yeah it would be very cool. There's no other game like.it

I think it looks gorgeous so just hoping reviews are good
Most people here: "We want a turn-based battle system with normal exp like in every other RPG in existence."
Me: "I'm tired of the basic formula after playing 100 games like that. I hope they've got some surprises coming for the battle system."
